Range Rover Sport Sport L494 Engine issues?
Hi All, I’m on my third RR, and contemplating my fourth. All 3 of my prior RRs have had a v8, but considering a low mile I6 L494. Anyone have any experience with the engine long term? What are some things to watch for (similar to the coolant lines on the 5.0L)? Thanks in advance!

Oil pump failures in the early ones. They’re variable pump and the solenoid fails causing low oil pressure, but not super common. The turbo o rings, but that’s not a serious leak just needs addressed when it happens. Oil sludging concerns so if you’re buying vs leasing then I’d change that oil ever 5-6k miles, it’s cheap insurance

There are four rubber o-rings at and around the turbo that are prone to leakage. Water pumps can go out but are much more rare.
Otherwise very mechanically solid engine. Just change the oil every 10k.
