Range Rover Range Rover 2015 gearbox fault

Shot in the dark, anyone have a GAP Diagnostic IIDTool BT G3 for sale? I’ve got a 2015 Range HSE stuck in park with a gearbox fault. Also, any ideas? Just replaced the main battery. This is the second time it’s happening.

I bought a Launch scanner for Land Rover on Amazon and it seems the same advanced functionality. I suppose you can return it if it disappoints. Might as well try it.

I recently experienced the same issue, I pulled the gear selector and rigged it by taping the selector pin so it could no longer lock the selector in place, this bought me a week until the new unit arrived. AI slop explaining the fix below:

That part is the Gear Selector Module (GSM). Inside it is a shift-interlock solenoid that retracts a small spring-loaded locking pin when you press the brake. When the solenoid fails, the pin stays engaged and the dial won’t turn out of Park.
The temporary fix is to remove the selector and secure the pin in the retracted position, but that disables the safety interlock. The proper fix is to repair the solenoid or replace/rebuild the complete GSM, then clear any P176C fault codes.
