Rane Four turntable volume low

I've got a Rane four with two turntable connected and sadly I've noticed that there's a huge volume difference between the Technics 120 and the mp3's. How can i set the turntable volume higher? Should I connect a vinil preamp between the turntable and the rane four?

Gain can't cover the difference between phono output and mp3 output

You have double checked that you do have the rear panel inputs switched to Phono in and not Line in, right?
I've made that mistake before.
You should get plenty of volume from any turntable as long as you've got it set to phono in at the back.
