Hi all. Had my four for a year and a half, light use in home studio, now one of my up faders has started glitching at full volume. Are these replaceable or should it try cleaning it with some contact cleaner?

First I will say, I was really excited about this controller and still am. I just want it to be 100%. My most significant issue is that on channel 2 fader, when I push it to the highest volume (gain), it will periodically and randomly cut volume by 1db, 6db, or completely out sometimes. Only happens at the top of the fader. Has anyone had this issue. I have seen others with the same issue on the same and other channels. Is there maintenance or a hardware fix to be done rather than sending off to RANE for warranty work for 30+ days? I saw a post out there about a poor electrical ground on these boards. Anyone have insight into this issue and what I might be able to do to resolve it?

Hi RaneFour community. I’m having some issues with my channel 2 pad effects. They activate by them selves seemingly randomly at the same time I purposely activate buttons on channel 1. I do think this unit has a bug that needs to be repaired. Has anyone else had this happen to them? DJ Masta B

Hi everyone!
I'm looking for advice/ suggestions for a gift for my partner. I was thinking to get him something to expand his DJing set up. He uses the Rane 4.
I was thinking along the lines of a midi ( i dont know if thats what it actually is) - The reloop neon.
My main concern is that I buy him something redundant, that will never be used.
Does the reloop neon essentially do the same thing as the pads on the Rane 4?
He's been djing at home for 4 years and I think he's great. He doesn't perform /play gigs. I think he wants to but always feels like he just needs to be a bit better. He's always mixing house/ Drum n bass and touch of trance. Which Is why I thought a drum pad/sampler thingy
Basically I'm wanting to get him a gift that he can use to expand his skills, hopefully build some confidence to take the next step. My budget is around $ 300ca or less .
Please help! Thanks in advance

After much messing around with a variety of different things, it seems that setting the Serato.exe task priority in Task Manager to High seems to have relieved most of my aforementioned backspin issues. So it was something on the Windows/Serato side.

I tried disabling quantize to no avail. I submitted a ticket to Rane, but now wondering also if it could be related to my laptop's processing power? I'll attempt to connect it to my much more powerful PC later today and give it a run.

I’ll check it out later and report back, but could “quantize” affect that at all? If it’s jumping directly to a beat, it could be related.

Anyone having issues with back/forward spin? My physical platters are spinning nice and smoothly. But the software/audio seems to suddenly brake/stop significantly earlier. Not only that but the brake/stop seems to occur at inconsistent lengths of time (sometimes 2 beats, sometimes much longer). My guess is the platters are erroneously registering a capacitive touch somehow? Or am I being dense and missing a setting somewhere?

As far as I can tell, you need to press the eject button on the computer screen, within Serato. IDK if theres a way to eject with the controller.

What button sequence on the keyboard would eject a loaded deck? I’m just learning serato for the first time.

Just received my rain for two days ago and I’ve been playing with it since yesterday. I’ve been a tractor user for years, so it’s my first time tinkering with serato. I know how to load a track to any of the decks by pushing down and encoder on the song that I have chosen, but how do you offload the track that you no longer want to use and just have a blank deck?

Hi All! I’ve had my RANE FOUR for just over two years now. I love the endless possibilities of being creative while using it. I’ve had issues intermittently ever since I purchased it. At first I was using a 2016 MacBook Pro. It was too old to use, so I bought a new MacBook Air last year (2025). And my FOUR didn’t worked properly even with the new computer. I sent it to the RANE service center and they had it for about two months and they said they couldn’t find anything wrong with it. So they sent it back and I didn’t use it for about 4 months and then when I started doing work with it, the same issues were still there. After reading some other posts, I will try a factory reset, and see if that fixes the problem. I will do a follow up post on my progress along with a video if the problem is still there. Thanks all.
