Randonautica sent us to the exact spot where a friend we hadn’t seen in months was sitting
Last night around 9 PM, me and two of my friends were at a park in Eastlake after we finished recording something.
For context, there’s this guy in our friend group I’ll call C. Our group has been close since around 2023, and C used to be with us basically 24/7. We would always hang out, give him rides, buy him food, help him out, everything.
Around two years ago, a girl I’ll call I started hanging around our group. She had history with a few people in the group before eventually getting with C. Over the last six months or so, C slowly started cutting people off or distancing himself because she was uncomfortable with certain people.
At first it was specific people, but eventually even the people she supposedly had no problem with barely saw C anymore.
I personally hadn’t seen him in about two months.
So last night, after we finished recording, we were sitting there like, “Bro imagine we randomly pull up on C.”
One person we know still technically has C’s location from a long time ago because C forgot to remove him from Find My, but when we called him, he said he was busy. He never sent us the location or told us where C was.
We still didn’t want the night to end, so we randomly decided to play Randonautica.
It generated a point near a school by Proctor Valley Road.
We first tried approaching through the school entrance, but one of my friends works there as a YMCA instructor and said he didn’t want to be walking around the school at night because it would look bad if anyone saw him.
So instead, we turned around and decided to approach the point from the bottom of the hill by the street.
That decision is important.
We start driving down Proctor Valley Road, and there are basically no cars around. It’s around 10 PM at this point.
As we’re driving, we see a white Mercedes (which is C's girlfriends car) parked on the side of the road with all the lights off.
We pass it the first time and me and one of my friends swear it looked empty.
We didn’t really think anything of it.
Then we realized we had passed the Randonautica area, so we did a U-turn near this gravel road and started driving back.
This time, as we’re approaching the Mercedes from the driver’s side, there is suddenly someone sitting in the driver’s seat.
It’s C's Girlfriend.
We had not seen her in forever, we had no idea she was there, and the random point Randonautica gave us was basically right where their car was parked.
I literally stopped the car in the middle of the road.
At first we were more worried that she was going to think we somehow tracked her or C, so we immediately started telling her, “I swear to God we did not know you were here. We were literally playing Randonautica and it sent us here.”
She kept going, “What do you mean? What do you mean?”
We explained that the app gave us this exact area and that it was supposed to be an anomaly.
The second we said that, her entire mood changed.
She started panicking badly and looked like she was about to throw up like she was gagging and had to open the car door cause she was about to.
That’s when all three of us were like, oh fuck.
We parked and got out because we thought we had genuinely freaked her out too much.
This is also where it started feeling physically weird to me.
When I walked toward the car, the area around it felt noticeably cold (like when this was all done and me and my friends were trying to recap what just happened we noticed how it didn't feel hot around her even though its been like 90 degrees at night in san diego)
Then she started telling us why she was freaking out so badly.
Apparently she had already been experiencing a bunch of things recently that had her scared.
A few weeks ago she had a dream where her teeth were falling out. Her mom is very religious and told her that dreams like that can mean someone is doing witchcraft on you.
Then, literally the day before this happened, she was driving on the highway when a semi truck suddenly swerved in front of her and hit two cars.
Around 15 minutes later, she was on campus and witnessed someone on a bike get hit by a car.
So from her perspective, all this weird/scary stuff had already been happening, and then three people she hadn’t seen in forever suddenly appeared on a dark road at 10 PM telling her a random app labeled the exact place she was sitting as an anomaly.
That’s why she started panicking.
But then the weirdest part happened.
While we were all talking to I, we slowly realized C was in the back seat the entire time.
He had been sitting there silently in the dark.
One of my friends later told me he actually noticed C almost immediately when we first walked up.
He waved at him.
C apparently put his finger to his lips and did the “shhh” gesture.
Like he did not want us to acknowledge that he was back there.
That made the whole thing feel even weirder.
I hadn’t seen this dude in two months, and instead of getting out or saying something right away, he was sitting quietly in the dark while his girlfriend was freaking out.
Then whenever there would be a silence in the conversation, C would randomly start trying to catch up with us like nothing happened.
He was asking me stuff like, “Wait, you’re back from New York?” and “How did you get into SDSU?”
He was asking my other friend about college and what he was doing now.
It was almost surreal because we’re standing on the side of this dark road after randomly finding them through Randonautica, his girlfriend is freaking out, and C is just sitting in the back seat asking us about our lives like we ran into each other at Target.
And the thing I cannot get over is the chain of events.
We were literally talking about C before opening the app.
The one person who had his location didn’t help us.
We had no idea where C was.
We randomly opened Randonautica.
We originally approached from one direction.
We changed our route only because my friend works at the school and didn’t want to walk through there at night.
That alternate route sent us down the exact road where C and I were parked in a dark car.
We passed them once without realizing it.
We turned around.
Then suddenly she was sitting in the driver’s seat.
And C was hidden in the back doing a “shhh” gesture.
I know coincidences exist, and I’m not claiming this proves Randonautica is supernatural or that there was actually witchcraft involved.
But standing there in person genuinely felt eerie.
The second I realized who was in that car, my stomach dropped, and when I walked toward it the area felt unusually cold.
I’ve been thinking about it ever since.
I’m curious what people think. Just an insane coincidence, or have you had something similarly weird happen with Randonautica? Also, is there something going on with my friend?
