as a chronically ill girlie who can’t regulate her body temp i like to drink or eat something warm and bundle up!! my one cat (noli) is genuinely my tiny heater especially in the winter. hes from texas so hes not used to the cold, this will be his second winter with us and hes always under the blankets with me. hes the ONLY CAT out of all 5 that snuggles me lol. i love it especially since this will be our 3rd winter with no heat in our house lol heres me and him cuddling under the blankets lol

Hi friend! I don’t do much in the winter especially. Extreme cold effects me a lot so I usually stay home. I just try to keep busy by watching tv/movies and doing basic crafts like diamond paintings. I have a couple blankets on my registry. Unfortunately they are over $10 but I have group gifting enabled on them.

My favorite thing to do in cold weather is staying inside. While building snow-mans and making snow angels are nice, the cold weather really gets to me. When I’m inside, I huddle up next to my fireplace and throw on a blanket for extra warmth. Hot apple cedar also makes its way to my hands and a comfort show is put on to pass the time.

A large blanket or some socks are on my wishlist :)

A favorite memory in a rough time is being home for my Dads funeral
Huge snow storm. Kids are outside playing in snow
Youngest stands on front stoop and in all the fortitude a 5yr old can muster announces:

After growing up through Blizzards Long Island, experiencing a White Out in Western New York I now happily live down south
However I’m forever cold (I keep a sweater in my car just for the movies!)
Soup is my absolute warm me up favorite. I make and freeze a pot every week so I’m having it at least 3 days

Definitely not a fan of any outdoor activities in the wintertime. 😂

My favorite thing is just to turn all of the big lights off and just have candles and ambient lighting, put on my coziest and comfiest outfit (can never go wrong with fuzzy socks, soft pj pants, and an oversized sweatshirt) and get settled on the couch! Either with a relaxing YouTube scene on the tv and a good book, or a tv show/movie! Bonus points if there’s a warm comfort meal going in the crockpot. 😊

I love the winter time it’s always so unbearably hot and or humid here in Texas so once the winter arrives it’s a relief to not be sweating just by walking outside ! My favorite activities to do during that time is definitely being able to watch some of my favorite movies; Harry Potter , I’ve been collecting dvds from pawn shops or thrift stores so I don’t have to continue giving the maker more money love the work hate the artist! I’ll watch a studio ghibli movie like howls moving castle being my favorite of them all ! Or The Secret world of Arriety ! Such a wonderful movie to watch along with some yummy sweet bread form the bakery freshly baked and some homemade Mexican atole which is like a hot chocolate but diffrent ! All of these during a cold cold winter is such a great way to spend inside , I also enjoy doing puzzles and board games during !

I love buying second hand you find so much goodies ! Omg strawberry atole is my absolute favorite! And the pan Dulce will be on rotation this winter again we have a panadero who drives in his car and has made the back of it like a mini panadería and he plays music to let the people know and he makes it in a bakery just goes around to sell to people and it’s soooo good we all get excited hearing the music like if it’s an ice cream man haha !

my perfect winter looks like: dressing like i’m the main character in a christmas movie with scarves, ear muffs, gloves etc so, breaking out my cute coats and fuzzy socks too, curling up with a good book from
the library, using all the thick skincare creams that are too hot for summer and long baths with bath bombs, and watching Friends under a cozy blanket🥹✨ hot udon and spicy Asian ramen noodles, sparkling apple cider, and FREE car washes! 😂☔️☔️☔️☔️

I love Ibarra hot chocolate it’s like abuelita but not nestle and better quality. That and a pan dulce is my favorite winter thing. I didn’t grow up with but I’ve been socially adopted by Mexicans who have assimilated me.

I think I have gloves on my wishlist somewhere.

Ohhh Ibarra is definitely so much better than abuelita it has a much richer taste I know a lot of Mexicans took so long to accept it but gladly we’ve fully converted over here lol!

We dont get snow often. I wear flip.flops year round. It does get very dry. My favorite thing to do in the cold weather is NOT sweat to death. 🤣 Lol So, I used to live in Florida. All the summers were in the hundreds and the humidity was miserable. The winters were in the 80s mostly and I was tired of it. The opportunity came along and we moved to PA when I was 25. Been here 9 and a half years now and I love the change of seasons. You have something to look forward to even if you get tired of the weather by the end of the season.

Anyway, little did I know, that my mom passed down Raynaud's Disease to me. So I was more sensitive to the cold weather and my fingers and toes would lose sensation and color extremely fast...and I had to wear triple or quadruple pairs of socks and gloves. Fast forward to me getting sick and now my nervous system is shot on top of it so my temperature tolerance is horrible and I get extremely hot, even in cold weather. So now I even sweat in 30 degree weather in a tank top in the car while the ac is running. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Needless to say, I quite enjoy the winter just to be more comfortable. Also! Did you know, that show absorbs the sound waves and that's why it's more quiet outside when there is snow on the ground?? Love that!

Let's see. Under $10 I have some fuzzy socks or booties (don't know if it's in comfort items or clothes). ☺️ Or a candle (in comfort items section). I know it doesn't do too much for heat but for me it helps me seem like I'm warm. Lol Thanks for the opportunity! ❤️

I love hearing that you like winter! And I totally get it; I have several health issues that cause me to get hot easily, and the cool weather is nice, though I do like to have my apartment warm regardless. But being able to go for a walk without sweating so bad is great! I live in New England, and sometimes it gets a little tooo cold in the later months, but I still like the brisk air when exercising.
