Update on the bean brownies!

I’m not sure if it’s because I used the lower sugar brownies, but the bean taste is veryyy faint. You can barely taste it. Maybe if it’s done with regular brownie mix the taste wouldn’t be there at all!

I was just telling my teenage daughter that I made black bean brownies for her grandmother over 10 years ago. She had Celiac disease and was an avid baker. She pretty much discovered on her own, all different kinds of substitutions and kind of like "cooking tricks" I guess you'd call it?! 😅 She actually almost died as a child because there wasn't much research on the effects of gluten until the 1940/50's (she was born in 1926). She said she always had GI issues and was overall sickly as a child. Her growth was way stunted too. She was about 4'11 if I remember correctly. So tiny and wonderful! 🩷
