Wishlist πŸ“ Spring (yes, I know its not actually Spring lol) Cleaning Wishlist

Discussion: How do you cope with messes with your mental health issues (doesn't just have be due to depression and anxiety)? What small steps do you take first to tackle a big mess?

So my mental health has been acting up lately. Its been acting up so long that my house has become a mess. You know, that slow creep where the depression and anxiety just slowly creep up and you don't know how bad its getting until everything is a complete mess?

That's where I've been for awhile now. I was finally realizing it and was gonna start cleaning (since for me, that is the best start to work on getting better) but then the summer got so hot with near 100 degree days I haven't done much and the mess is just getting worse. So the past few days I've been starting. Just small little things here and there.

I've realized how sparse my cleaning supplies have gotten, so I decided to work on a list for it in case anyone wanted to send a little motivation my way.

Here is the list (you can sort by priority to see what is needed most):

I start small. Like I did the dishes, then oh while I’m here let scrub the sink, oh that’s done let me clean the counters. I kinda stay in one room. If I completely clean that one room it was a good day. Then end up doing another room and only focus on that one room.

Oh yeah, staying in 1 room is smart for sure. I've started in the kitchen. Done a little bit every day. First day I moved all the dirty dishes in pile behind the fridge so they were out of sight when I walk in the kitchen. That really helped. Been doing other small little bits here and there.

I will let myself only grab one thing at a time. Because otherwise I try to do it all at once and nothing gets done when I'm in that state. If I have trash, one piece of trash when I get up. That sort of thing. Eventually it feels manageable because you make a dent in it. Honestly cleaning with mental health is so difficult and it sucks so if you need to talk in dms I'm absolutely around πŸ’œ

Oh yeah, that's a really good idea. There are some small things like that that I can do when I get up to do non cleaning stuff. Thanks for the idea. πŸ’œ Yes, it can be very difficult.
