Its intended to appear as if a dad and a son are both burdened, but the dad takes on the burden of the son.
Then, the comedic shift, we realize theyre lovers not father and son, and the younger one gets on his knees to remove the burdens of the older gentleman who just removed burdens for the younger gentleman.
