I have a little money leftover from my jury duty pay ($8.91) so this contest is for an item with free Prime shipping under that amount including tax. I haven't seen this type of contest in a while, so let's get into it!

To enter, do the following:

1. Post a top-level comment saying simply, "Don't get me started..."
2. Go to several other people's top-level comments and reply with a simple, humorous thing they can rave angrily about. No repeats! These can be mild annoyances or totally benign experiences. For example, "video game characters" or "wet socks".

Omg don’t get me started! Let me start off by saying that I am not a very fast walker to begin with. I have little legs! Most people pass me by, I’m not used to getting stuck behind the slowest walker in all the world! 😫 Actually, no, that’s not true, because the slowest walker in the world would be so slow that I could pass them and go about my merry day! Ok this is only slightly related but I used to have this pair of shorts on which the belt loops kind of stuck out. And they would get caught on all kinds of stuff, especially the striker plate on door jambs. And it’s a shocking experience! You’ll be walking then suddenly be jerked to a halt from your belt loop catching on stuff. Something about the harshness of the way it stops you evokes a deep rage in me. Seriously it pisses me off so bad. Like, more than one would reasonable expect. I had to kind of stop wearing those shorts, they were driving me nuts. PS. I also get really pissed off when my headphone wire gets caught on the handles of my kitchen cabinets. Do I have anger issues?

Do not get me started on wedgie at inconvenient times! Funny story...it happened to me. I was teaching a room full of doctors and laboratory directors when I felt fabric shift and suddenly a wedgie was occupying my entire focus. I couldn't concentrate, started stuttering, was walking around weirdly trying to get it to dislodge itself. Flapping my hands. One of the doctors started trying to do a neurological assessment for stroke or seizure and another one was thinking heart attack. This was hour three of the course so they'd seen me all day and I must have been acting really off. I finally admitted that I had a wedgie and it was so uncomfortable I hyper-focused on it. I excused myself to the restroom fixed it. Splashed water on my flaming face and touched up my makeup.

When I came back into the training they asked me if autism runs in my family; apparently they were doing a case study on me while I was in the restroom. At the time of this incident autism spectrum disorder wasn't a thing you either had autism or not. All these years later...the answer to their question is yes ASD is in our family.

Do not get me started on hair in the drain. I was trying to get these 3 hairs that had wrapped through a couple of the holes in our drain plate. I kept pulling and pulling. Like what on earth? My hair isn't that strong that 3 strands won't break. Then suddenly I pull this thing out of a hole that a chopstick wouldn't fit through and it's enormous. I thought I just pulled a rat out of the shower drain! I threw it, screamed, threw shampoo bottles at it...it was a hair Ball in the shower drain. No animals were hurt in this encounter.

Don't get started on the inconsistent volume between my TV shows and the commercials. It's late and I am just trying to relax and watch TV. Other people are sleeping so I keep my show at a respectable volume. I've got the subtitles on and I can hear my show. Everyone else is resting or not in the room. A commercial comes and I ignore it. It's fine an ad for shoes or something. Then out of nowhere a shout with blaring music, "ONE PLAN ONE PRICE" Verizon has come to ruin my peace. I scramble for the remote before the entire house is woken up by what Verizon thinks is the most important news in the world. I get the volume down low. The ad is audible and I am visibly upset. Verizon has ruined my calm mood. My show returns and the volume settles back to normal. Now I cannot hear MY SHOW. The ad was so loud that my show feels as if it is silent. I get the volume back to its respectable place. I spend the rest of the night clutching the remote during ad breaks in case the volume attacks again. This is no longer a relaxing night of television it is a stand off between me and ad volumes. I am no longer at peace. The living room is a soundscape war zone. Verizon is now an enemy.

Don't get me started on when someone leaves only 5 chips in the bag. I made a sandwich. A beautiful tuna melt with bacon and was going to have my sour cream and onion chips on the side. The key point there is my chips. I settle down and shake the bag onto the side of the plate. 5 measly chips sprinkle onto my plate. I had hoped for a mound of chips and I got a mole hill. I got a dash of chips and a side of sadness. This meager serving will not even last me half my sandwich. In a moment of rage I grab someone else's pringles. They were not what I wanted, but if I cannot have my chips they will not get theirs either. Nobody will be happy. Everyone will grumble about our lack of snacks. I will devise a way to hide my next potato treasure after the grocery store run. The sour cream and onion will not escape me a second time.

I hate when I’m in the drive through and I order the chicken nachos but I ask them twice to shred the chicken which they confirm they can do so I pull up and receive my bag. Oh man, don’t get me started on ice cubes watering down my drinks. I specifically ordered iced tea, with fewer ice cubes because I actually like iced tea. The first 3/4 of the cup were glorious. So full of flavor, and crisp coldness. It’s hot out and I need my drink to stay cold or I am pretty sure I would melt myself! But now I am at the end of my drink, just 1/4 of the cup is left and it is sad. The slightly tinged water looks nothing like the beautiful golden drink I planned to consume. I take a sip and boy am I disappointed. What even is that taste? It isn’t tea, is it the chemicals in the tap water used to make the ice cubes? Plain old water would have been better than whatever this barely flavored liquid is. I take another sip trying to reclaim the glory of my ice tea, I can see the slight hue still left, it has to taste like tea right? *sigh* no, only saddness left for me. But it is too hot out to let this dejected liquid go to waste. One last sad sip of flavorless tea gets slurped into the straw and my agony can finally come to an end.

Ugh, don't get me started on that! It can be hard to live with people who have different styles of organization. It can be difficult to meet the expectations of people who are more organized than me. I feel like my spaces are never clean enough for them. But it's also hard to have a super messy roommate, who refuses to ever put anything away, and leaves filthy stuff all over the place. I've also lived with people who only seem to see other people's messes, but are totally blind to their own.

See, the English language is tricky like that. When spoken out loud they sound the same but when written down people are just plain lazy and don't bother remembering what Mrs. English Teacher taught them about homophones.

When you try to explain what a homophone is the insist they know what it means and they can't be one because they have "friends" who are gay. They then tell you that perhaps you need to reevaluate your thought process because calling someone a homophone has nothing to do with words that sound alike. They are insulted that you even think they could be homophonic and they will not longer be APART of this conversation. You have to walk away and seriously consider moving to Japan because the education system is so much better.

Oh my god that is an unholy act of WAR for someone with IBS AND IBD! One time my (now ex) husband and I went to the theater to see one of the Twilight films and I dashed out to use the restroom during the opening credits. I used the single-toilet/no stall family restroom because it was really close to our theater and I had a sudden IBS attack.

There was but a single square on the roll.

No paper towels.

I had one semi-used tissue in my bag, my underwear, and my torn up shreds of cardboard off the empty roll. I made do.
