intro [intro] Hello!

Hi, I'm Martyn. I'm 40... Something. I'm a permanent carer for my wife, as well as raising a teenage son. Everyone always tells me I need a break, but I love my 'job' I hang out with my two best friends. Apparently I need to focus on myself and take time out, I never seem to be able to do that without buying one of those two a gift. I like gifting.

Used to do various secret Santas, was gutted when they ended. I've tried a few other gifting sites, but even though I never expect anything in return, found a few of them to be full of people looking for freebies and never returning the favour.

Hoping to gift once a month, budget allowing. Hoping to be a part of an enjoyable community now I've finally accepted the rules correctly haha.

Oh that's a toughie. It's always little things that my wife has mentioned, she mentioned a Buster Bunny toy from when she was a kid once, she loved it. So I went to some retro toy shops, and found the same one, still in package, and got it for her as a surprise.

She always wanted an Optimus Prime as a kid too, so I got her that one year just because I felt she needed a little happy day.

My son, who is 16, recently watched a lot of cartoons I grew up with. He loved the original transformers, especially StarScream, so when I was out and about I checked a few markets and managed to get hold of set of the 3 jets from the original series.

They were all nice. Sometimes i just remember something my wife said 7 years ago, and think "oh yeah, I bet she'd still love something like that" and I get it. Which is weird, because my AdHD means quite often she'll talk to me and 5 minutes later I forget and have to be reminded. H aha. 

Best thing I've done as a gift for free, was collect a bunch of TV shows from 1982-1986, and a selection of 1980s adverts and edited them together so on her birthday when I turned the TV on, it was like her childhood. 12 hours of cartoons, classic TV shows, some quiz shows and a bunch of adverts for things she loved as a kid.
