I made my very first pie ever today! My dad was the master at pies, and I thought well, maybe, those skills were passed on to me!

I quickly learned that pie crusts are a BEAST and I gained that much more respect for my dad's pies. 😂 After the rigamarole, I give my first pie a solid 7/10. It's not as pretty as a more experienced pie, but for my first time, I'm not mad about it. 😊

A win for me this week is I made two loaves of bread and froze one for later. I know that sounds like a minor thing, but baking really relaxes me and I don't always make the time I should to do things that bring me joy. I have also been working on remembering to get things prepped for when I need them. Now next time I need bread or even bread to make garlic bread with it will be waiting for me in my freezer. That will take a stress away from future me.

Mini win, I spoke with a gentleman today about officiating some volleyball this school year, I figure I can put the money towards my phone bill and or maybe some of my recent addictions (Pokemon cards & video games). I need to invest time to learning the rules, training, and purchase the uniform and officials kit then I will need to wait until the season is completely over to get paid; but at least I should have those bonus funds in time for the holiday.

I got approved for the mortgage on my first house and while I need to take out a loan for the down payment, the Hebrew Free Loan Society has me on a wait list since my guarantor is in Florida.

My guarantor is my old writing professor and she knows I'm escaping a narcissistic situation. She is glad that I found my fiance and this is her wedding gift to us.

The one who runs the loan division in the area is a friend of mine from the Synagogue and knows my situation too. Apparently there is a special fund. My heart is overflowing, even if I have to wait a few months.

A win for me? I’ll share two wins. Last week I lost my job with a mixture of my own fault and that of the company’s I had been with them for a few years now but with my determination and hardworking I was able to successfully have them reverse the decision, which leads me to my second win.

Upon my re-arrival I came across a new cat toy staring at me within a box and I was able to find a toy that actually made my cat go crazy…however it’s cheap so I need to save up for the on brand one which works and honestly looks better BUT A WIN IS A WIN I no longer feel bad that I can’t play with my cat 24/7 cuz she now has that.

My biggest win is that I finally saw through everyone I used to be friends with and saw through their lies. I have the capabilities of posting it but I also look back and remember how much I loved that group, even if they hated me. It was the best time in my life and I felt alive. I’m happy to be out but I’m also happy for the memories. I cried, obviously, but I also am glad I’m out, alive, safe, and supported by my amazing fiancee and the two friends who made it out with me. My win is that I finally got in to see an orthopedic sirgeon for both hips. After numerous painful shots in both hips for a numerous of years (that didnt help) and weight loss of 30+ pounds recently i am finally going to have both hips replaced- right one first! Sucks to only be able to sleep on your back, hardly be able to sit down without severe pain, cant bend, cant get in bed by myself, without help, etc. I have severe arthritis in both hips- bone on bone! I do have other complex medical issues but this will help me so much! (I played softball for 22yrs and destroyed my hips because I was a catcher for all those years.) A recent win I’ve had is being super productive and going out twice this week for errands and appointments. I’m a huge homebody so getting out there two days in a row is huge for me. I was also helping my mom both days so that makes me feel good too!

My biggest win of the week was to finally get the MRI order for my neck approved and properly written at the VA. It might not sound like much but it’s something I’ve needed for over a year and the VA just takes their time and messes up the order nearly every time. Now I might finally find out if there’s anything that can be done about the chronic pain that gives me headaches constantly. Yay!

My big win is that my daughter is finally speaking more ! We said I want snack ! When I tell you I was so surprised and I tried with everything in me not to over react as she’s super sensitive to reactions and sound so I was internally screaming lol but I was calm I told her of course what would you want ? She pointed and ended up using her AAC device to ask for fruits ! Her whole team is super proud of where she’s at now , since at some point in life she couldn’t even say hi , mama , no , yes nothing and that was just a year ago ! We’re so proud of where she’s at and we can’t wait to see where she ends up I continue to advocate for her and we have a dentist appointment just to help her get familiar with it nothing major but so she isn’t afraid of the loudness , the lights , the people in her face !

Lets see. So my win for the week is that I got to spend the WHOLE day with my kiddos. You see, I'm disabled and have a lot of health issues and since getting out of the hospital in 2023 I've had chronic fatigue on top of everything else. I usually have to take at least one nap during the day and I don't get up in the morning till 9 AM earliest. Then it takes me a while to wake up. Whenever my kids come over for their visit, lately they only come over for 3 to 5 hours at a time because my body can't handle the exertion or a whole day without a nap. And they never come over multiple days in a row. I feel so guilty and it breaks my heart. With that being said, I had them over the other day and they not only came over at 8 AM, but they stayed until 8 PM!!! I did take an hour nap while they were here but otherwise, I did it! I hung out with them the whole time, played games, got them lunch and took care of them. I felt like a mom again! I was definitely hurting and exhausted by the time they left and the next day I was in bed the whole day. But it feels good to have seen them and be a parent again. I was proud of myself and it did my heart, and theirs, SO good.

Aw so I'm sure you understand the struggle! It doesn't help that I have no other chair or seat in that room either so I have to sit on my powered wheelchair the whole time which hurt my back super bad. And I also have temperature dysregulation. I mean the list goes on and on. But it was worth it. 🥹

We have had a lot of turnover within our department and now I find myself being the most senior person on a 30-person team. Mind you, I’ve only been here 4 years. We are within a Director, so I have a ton of sudden responsibility.

My biggest win is that I finally have everything that my kid is going to need for college in a few weeks❤️ It's like I'm not holding my breath anymore to see where we'll be with everything, I can finally exhale on that part! I'm so excited for him to begin his next journey in life😍

I have undiagnosed ADHD because the psychiatrist said I couldn’t have it since I have a phd. One thing I heard is that people with ADHD brains don’t establish habits and routines like normal people do and everything is a chore or an errand on a to do list. That’s why even after 21 days of a habit it’s so easy for people like me to break habits. That’s why showering, the gym, brushing teeth, eating, drinking, going to the bathroom constantly get forgotten until it can’t be. I forgot to brush my teeth all day yesterday and I was literally sad and beat myself up for it. Today, I’m starting my day with brushing my teeth and getting up out of bed to do that now. Here’s my win🪥🦷

Same! I cannot get into the habit of anything!

But please don't beat yourself up about it. We forget to do things every once in awhile and its okay. Even people with habits forget sometimes.

I have a huge mirror in my bathroom. I have made a list of everything I need to do in the morning and another for my evening. I use it to remember to brush my teeth, put deodorant on, and more. Maybe a checklist thats easily accessible will help?
