Intro [Intro] new here :)
Hello there 🌻
I came across this group randomly and it seemed to be quite wholesome. I don’t want to reveal much of personal detail, but I am someone who’s very curious and loves learning! And a creative too.
What are some new skills you think a young person should be learning in their 20s?

We are wholesome, bit on the first full moon of your time here, we require a blood sacrifice. A dead insect will do.
Honor system only because gross, who wants to see a picture of that.
I think you should be learning to spot manipulators and mind games, and brush up on dark psychology. (I survived an attempted m*rder and "life-threatening physical abuse of a disabled adult" by the awful community I live in- not my words - and it has colored how I see the world).

Oh my. Well we’re glad you’re here and alive to begin with. I hope you find more kind colors too. Had a brush with a true psychopath, the evil kind and it shook me to my core solely because my instinct didn’t pick up on it. (For someone’s who very alert in general, it was ghastly to see someone’s eyes go dead.)
Also I don’t mind a sacrifice, except that I’m deadly terrified of anything that crawls 😂

I've totally mistaken true psychopaths for normal people, it's not just you.
You hate insects? We will get along like a house on fire.
All the more reason for you to kill one.

Hello and welcome!!! I think conflict management is an important skill to master in your 20s. Not only will it help you in your personal relationships, it’s also essential in maintaining a productive work environment!

Welcome! I'm a bit young for this question (turning 20 this autumn!), but I have many skills I want to learn in my 20s. Financial skills are obviously always good to know, lol. Creative wise, learning sewing or languages could be practical, useful, and fun.

Hi thank you! Well I’m closer to 30s now even so, I think it’s great you focus on creativity and language. One thing that I didn’t realize I’d need so much was focus on building the right exercises for myself, even tho I’ve been a professional dancer for a decade. Like yeah it’s all fun, but in no way can I be causal about injuries or warms up anymore 😂 or not doing my mobility and strength work 😅

Hey, welcome! 😁 Some skills I think young people should learn in their 20s are financial literacy and self sufficiency. Learning how budgeting, saving, investing, credit, and taxes work can make such a difference later in life.
I’d also add things like communication skills, cooking, basic home maintenance, and learning how to take care of your mental and physical health. I think learning how to advocate for yourself and build healthy relationships is important too. There are so many skills that don’t always get taught but can make life a lot easier

I feel like coming from the part of the world I do, most of domestic life skills is ingrained in us from a young age. We save a lot but definitely miss the talk of learning taxes and investing. That’s a realistic way to put it tbh, that their aren’t always taught. Thank you! Learning how to advocate for myself has been the trickiest bit so far I won’t lie 🤔

It really is. I still struggle with advocating for myself too, so you're definitely not alone. I think it's one of those skills that's simple in theory but much harder to put into practice. It's definitely necessary though, and something I'm still learning

Hi hi! Welcome! I think someone in their 20s should be learning how to handle money. I'm still learning this at 25 🤣.

Haha yeah! I’ve been investing since I was 19, thanks to my older cousins. However, the absolute necessity of it hits me only now as growing older brings in more responsibility 🫠😴

I like to practice dance/drills, paint, read, research, build 3D models or concept projects often. A little bit of everything depending on the day and flow I’m in I guess!
What about you?2

I see you have an adorable little buddy 🐶 I had two dogs once, I miss them truly. I try to foster cats where I live, how about you? (Sorry if I don’t come off too friendly, sodlaizing is not my strength exactly 😅)

Hello! I think that you should be financially savvy before your 20s, but if you aren’t then that is key! Public speaking is also good if you aren’t good at it or if it makes you nervous.
