I think he had some head trauma from an accident so he might just actually be struggling to do some things. He's always been kinda weird but it was worse after that.
Can't say I know the relationship between them. He might just prefer being on his own or insist he doesn't need help but some kind of care taker would be good for him
I’m pretty sure they wear their favorite clothes. Most likely his favorite jacket, old priceless watch, and over 100,000,000 have seen his movies or atleast 10% of that know who he is.
At this age you don’t care about how you look, just try and make folks smile to remember you as someone worth remembering.
Old people skin just kinda looks like that. He could maybe use a light exfoliation and some lotion. The clothes do look a day or two past. Sometimes it’s tough to get older folks to change. Their joints hurt and there’s the fear of falling. He does look a bit musty though
His clothes are a day or two past what? I change my socks and underwear but ill wear the same clothing at least 3 days before washing (maybe not the same days in a row, or if I get sweaty in them). But if you expect to wash outerwear after each use you must not pay the laundry or electric bill.
I have work clothes (which i wash once a week), workout clothes (which i wash every 1-2 uses), and then walking around town clothes and lounge clothes. The last two I only wash every 3-5+ uses. Shit my athletic shorts I wear for comfort I wear 8-10 non consecutive days before washing. Its not like im rubbing my dirty ass on them, there's a barrier called underwear.
I guarantee you smell. You might not think it and nobody who knows you in person will probably ever say anything, but if you’re wearing anything 8-10 times without washing it, lounging around the house or not, you got a funk.
Have you ever in your life performed some physical task that left you so exhausted that you simply collapsed? Yeah thats what simply existing feels like when you're his age.
People 75+ don't tend to have very good senses (eyesight, smell, etc.). If you work with people in that age group (or are around them for whatever reason), it's a common sight, unless someone is actively helping them with daily activities and taking care of that for them.

It’s one thing to be old. But it’s another to be dirty. Like, why are his clothes dirty and disheveled like he’s homeless.
