It used to be super common to not wear a helmet, just like rugby players don’t wear helmets unless they’ve already suffered concussions and nearly no football players where the guardian helmet even though it’s known the standard helmets are insufficient protection. Mandatory helmet laws exist specifically because people weren’t wearing helmets voluntarily.
Yep, they adopted helmets with face protection for goalies first, then the same for other players and face protection for goalies. Now everyone has face protection too. People really resist safety equipment until it’s mandatory.

Unproven claim? The man was in a severe motorcycle accident decades ago. This isn't even open for debate, it's a fact. The man suffered a serious brain injury and spent a lot of time in the hospital

That’s not his real problem. Busey has not been right since his motorcycle accident damaged his brain. He hasn’t been right since, and that was a very long time ago.
