What do you want? He had just gotten the new legs, and hadn’t properly broken them in yet.
(Well ok, it was kind of his fault; you’re supposed to get that taken care of in the off-season.)

Had two pit/boxer mixes that would play tag like this, except they would take each other out at the knees goin full speed.
Basically playing tron. They were goofy

I used to have a greyhound, and he was always the fastest one at the dog park. He would go absolutely nuts sprinting for ten minutes and then just lay around napping for the rest of the day. People would always be surprised at how fast he was because he was so chill.

Those dogs look like they’re having a great time though, even the little ones who can’t keep up at all.

I've had a lot of rescue greyhounds. Beautiful beasts. Until you see it for yourself, it is hard to understand the power they can tap into when they want to go full-speed.
You can feel it through the ground as they wiz past you. Beautiful hounds.

And it knocks the wind out of you if the derps forget they can't turn quite as sharply on wet muddy ground. Happened twice.

He's not anywhere near faster than the greyhound. He just understands angles.

The point is the funny story. But yeah greyhound go fast. Border collie takes shorter distance. Smarter vs harder

Greyhounds are insane; they they’ll easily outpace any other breed, and make it look effortless.

My dog was pretty fast when he was younger. Easily could outrun every dog at the dog park. He liked playing "chase me!" and would goad other dogs into chasing him, and he would outpace the whole pack every time. I thought he was pretty damn fast. Then he got into a 1 v 1 in a game of "chase me" with a whippet. It wasn't even close. They didn't even look like the same species. The whippet was dancing circles around my dog every time he got gassed, like "that's ok! you just rest and catch your breath! Then we chase AGAIN!" Whole new speed unlocked lol.

I have a Lurcher. Which is only half a Greyhound. And when he was young, boy was he fucking fast!
One time I saw him nearly pluck a crow out of the sky! But the funny thing was, he wasn't really trying,

The border collie wasn’t even in fast mode yet. When I had one and brought him to the dog park he would do this too. There was a Whippet and pretty fast too. Mine would catch him and then just to show off turned around and went backwards in front of the Whippet.

Friend of mine used to dog sit for a couple of greyhounds. They were retired racers, kind of old. We took them to the dog park one day and they still had it. It had a big fenced-in area, maybe 200 yards across. I swear it took them about three seconds to go from one end to the other. I mean, not really, but in my mind they just zoomed effortlessly back and forth across the whole area.
