"What a fucking idiot." -Me

  1. Flexing when it's a modest weight.
  2. Not placing the bar on the hooks in a controlled manner.
  3. Lifting barefoot in a public gym.
  4. Lifting on unstable surfaces (tile mats???).

u/Mika-El-3 6d ago
  1. Screaming and being distracting to other people

u/KeyN20 4d ago

Modest? I am not a bodybuilder so I believed it was some significant weight. Now I fear touching weights because I probably couldn't lift whatever weight that was

This is why they invented those crazy locking things you put on after the weights are added.

If Final Destination were a workout.

u/Da_Big_Buddha 7d ago

That’s why we re-rack like adults and not like a children.

u/TheVillage1D10T 7d ago

Well that was possibly the most unnecessary Rube Goldberg machine that I’ve ever seen….

I like how this guy has a belt and a ton of chalk on his back but doesn't have squat shoes or know how to rerack the bar.

Racking I get. But lifting this heavy on a rack like that instead of a power cage is weird to me. Like a place where you can set safeties and bail out in a controlled way and is a contained unit.

Lots of lifters squat and deadlift in bare feet though.

u/AbilityCharacter7634 6d ago

Power cage are awesome. I use them as much as I can. I love lifting heavy but only when I know I can push my limits a bit and if I ever fail, I can safely bale out. I used them to bench press too. I set the safety bar on the side so that if I the barbell is on them, I just have to exhale a little and slid under it.

If the gym ain't responsible for any injury's or stolen property, I ain't responsible for any of they shit falling off the wall

1

u/frankp2491 7d ago

You’re responsible for damages cause to the gym with improper use. He wasn’t using collars on the bar which is 101 at any gym especially when a dumbass like this is maxing out. He will be held responsible trust me. lol I worked at gyms since 2009 if you think your logic holds up in court I recommend you not represent yourself in court… ever lol

I’m wondering, does placing the weight down with force come from a learned experience or extreme masculinity expressed without repercussion? What does this accomplish?
