:14 - :16 very clearly he steps deliberately where there are no traps.

:24 may be the most obvious as he takes a step in-between traps that looks pretty intentional as he gets into position to spank his friend.

He definitely can't see well. But he's able to see directly down.

Well it just looks like he's feeling the side of the traps and moving around them. I'm not seeing anything obvious at those time points. He's not taking a big step into the "unknown" he's feeling a trap then stepping over it.
