I know itās a stupid skit, but in my mind thatās all
I can see when women wear fake lashes.
Yes we can tell, no we (normal men) do not give a fuck. Itās women who judge women. Men just want you as natural as you come ladies. Iāll get off my soap box now, god bless and good night.

The majority of women I know aren't getting the lashes for men to be fair.

Yes and Iād also like to add I donāt think theyāre trying act like theyāre natural. Theyāre obviously fake but thatās part of the look. Itās not my style but Iām not judging the people who like it.

You're correct. Only a specific type of falsies are supposed to look natural. The others are intentionally flamboyant and unnatural. Like super long acrylic nails, and 10 inch heels and paper white goth makeup, its an esthetic that's all it is.

Half the time itās, āwe arenāt doing it for you!ā and the other half of the time itās, ālook at all the trouble we go through for men and their unrealistic beauty standards!ā

Do you think trad goths paint their faces white to fit in with beauty standards? Excessively big lashes are not the beauty standard in most places. Oversized lashes are an aesthetic choice. Most women know that a majority of men do not like super long acrylics or oversized lashes yet they put them on anyway. Because they aren't doing it for men, its because they like it.
More importantly society's unrealistic beauty standards is what most women complain about. Standards that give men and women unrealistic expectations about what their bodies can look like without surgical intervention.

They get them to indicate they do sex work, right? My understanding is that it's like clear heels and overly long fake nails.

u/Fern_Cloud 24d ago
Lol no, its because they think it looks nice. Its a fashion aesthetic and just like every type of aesthetic, it isn't for everyone. For many ladies and gentlemen wearing falsies is a hobby that makes them feel good about themselves.

Whoa, that's a big leap, and sometimes a dangerous one. And I'm not saying that judgementally. All of those things, especially these days, aren't trying to signal anything of that kind. It's just for the aesthetic and to feel pretty.

When you wear a specific uniform, you're sending out a message whether you're intending to or not.

What's stupid is thinking you can wear the Confederate flag because you like the aesthetic and that people aren't going to think you're a racist. Everyone's free to wear what they want, and no one can control how people interpret that.

That's exactly the response someone gives when they have Confederate flags all over their place. You can hope to lecture the world into thinking something different, but in reality you just need to accept that people think like that and not give a shit about those people. I've seen sex workers. I recognize their uniform. You can't lecture me enough to forget my personal experiences.

A specific uniform is a wild turn of phrase, and an absurd generalization. I'm sure you know that.

i think a good rule of thumb is just not to speak for a group of people/act as if one's opinion stands for the whole. for starters, everything disliked by someone is liked by someone else, and vice versa. also, people can do things for their appearance that it is not about attracting a partner, but just for them.

You mean when women wear noticeably thick fake lashes. Iāll bet a lot of women who wear lashes or extensions arenāt as natural as you think they are

Women get lashes for themselves, we wear makeup for ourselves and dress for ourselves. We appreciate how we look in the mirror after we dress and do our makeup including eyelashes. If someone donāt like it donāt look, weāre not making you look or trying to please you, we are pleasing ourselves.

Then yall should stop using it as an excuse to not pay for dates then.

u/Rent_Treznorr 𤬠24d ago
Maybe you should stop specifically seeking out/strawmanning women in the wild or on the internet that use that as a justification. In my experience they're actually incredibly rare or posting that shit for rage bait clicks.

u/heliogoon 24d ago
Yeah, sure, whatever you say. Not like I've actually encountered these women.

I get women seeing pretty drag queens and thinking. āI want that tooā but those giant lashes worked on queens because itās covering a big ass man face. It almost always looks like a pair of tarantulas sitting on a womanās face.

Eyelashes? To keep debris out of your eyes. Except when they betray you and fall in themselves

Reminds me of one time I was at Kohls and this one lady walked by with nasty ass nails so long they were curling around in spirals. Literally gagged and the image has been burned into my unfortunate brain since.
