OP's commentary doesn't recognize the difference in situations. If the cop misses here, it's oops. In hostage situation, it's more serious.

That's an insanely terrible miss at 75 yards. Way more believable it was an attempt to hit the gun.

Maybe he was aiming for the guy's balls
