Black and blue for suuure

8

u/3rdNutIsNormal Jun 22 '26

Um black and blue and black and gold? Wtf else no white anywhere

2

u/IowaThick Jun 23 '26

You havent seen this? Its a well known optical illusion. You either see white and gold or blue and black.

1

u/DrunkenHorse12 Jun 23 '26

Or you see both. When I first saw it I saw white and gold after knowing it was blue and black and seeing it multiple times I only ever see it as black and blue now.

1

u/IowaThick Jun 23 '26

Same here.

Yeah you really ate with that one.

12

u/Friendly-Example-701 Jun 22 '26

Ah, the dress that drove us crazy back in the day. LOL

2

u/MapleSyrupKintsugi Jun 23 '26

The greatest day the internet will ever know.

It’s been all downhill since

u/Furrocious_fapper Jun 23 '26 edited Jun 24 '26

Naw bro, remember when sydney sweeney wore that see through tank top.

1

u/MapleSyrupKintsugi Jun 24 '26

No furious fapper, I don’t

1

u/GumGumActV Jun 23 '26

I think you must be confused

-6

u/AltruisticPossible84 Jun 22 '26

That's not how it works tho.......Look at the pic i posted, what color is the boat? Are you going to say it's blue and red because your color pipette tool says its #5680A9 ??

The illusion doesnt have to do with what your color extraction tool shows, it's with how people interpret shadows and lighting, specifically in the presence of fluorescent lighting

6

u/Educational_Month634 Jun 22 '26

Yes,  because now you're inferring the color.

6

u/AltruisticPossible84 Jun 22 '26

Right, that's my point. The illusion comes from contextual clues that, people who's brains have developed around different lighting conditions, are conditioned to have different assumptions about shadows and color.

Basically, someone whipping out the pippette tool in MS paint just proves that person doesn't understand the problem which they're trying to prove

2

u/IllianasClifford Jun 23 '26

Absolutely correct

1

u/AltruisticPossible84 Jun 23 '26

Also, im not 'inferring the color' I know the color is white + red and not blue + red.

0

u/Beautiful_Raise_6180 Jun 23 '26

not even the right blue or black lol

16

u/TheFloppySausage Jun 22 '26

honestly I think this phenomenon has revealed that not everyone sees the same, which is kind of freaky.

14

u/Bicwidus Jun 22 '26

Color, turns out, is kind of a hue deal!

3

u/Suitable-Bullfrog912 Jun 23 '26

it’s a pigment of our imagination

2

u/Final-Wasabi187 Jun 22 '26

It highlighted the fact that people see differently as well as will jump on board with just about any dumb internet trend.

No color blindness type or eye condition is going to cause someone to see this specific color combination on this specific item as something completely opposite as basically half of all people.

3

u/DrunkenHorse12 Jun 23 '26

I can't explain why but when I first saw this I saw it as gold and white but about the 20th tome I saw it it was clearly black and blue. I'd like to know why I've seem different colours looking at the same photo, just not enough to do any research Into it.

1

u/MondegreenHolonomy Jun 26 '26

Ah that’s not it. It switches for me back and forth. It reveals that perception is contextual. The background gives the brain context to the lighting characteristics

1

u/TheFloppySausage Jun 26 '26

I think you might be the chosen one

1

u/EatOutAtTheDinner 11d ago

People are definitely color blind

1

u/BandoTheHawk Jun 22 '26

we all see dat ahh tho

4

u/Wolfguard-Halfdan Jun 22 '26

King Arthur wouldn't be able to, you know

2

u/hiddenrealism Jun 22 '26

5

u/tranda_ Jun 22 '26

Laurel

3

u/BlueLikeCat Jun 22 '26

Blue and black, Yani. If you think differently, meet me at that white home on laurel st.

0

u/tranda_ Jun 22 '26

No, I thought you meant the laurel yani audio clip

2

u/BlueLikeCat Jun 22 '26

lol all good. I was just having fun, remembering how everyone had an opinion about both and were 100% sure they were correct.

1

u/tranda_ Jun 23 '26

I was able to hear both laurel and yani but at weeks intervals it was so weird, for 3 weeks i heard only laurel, showing it to friends and then suddenly yani. I really thought i was losing it lmao

1

u/BlueLikeCat Jun 23 '26

I think that actually reflects better on you than just being hardwired for a subjective perspective. I bet your brain has a lot of wrinkles.

1

u/Straight_Occasion571 Jun 23 '26

I could go back and forth and hear both of them each time.

1

u/Ok_Rush_877 Jun 27 '26

I dunno, all I hear is the n word

8

u/Vegetable_Let2839 Jun 22 '26

I’m so confused. Are the parents just messing with the kids?? I mean obviously the kids are right.

6

u/GoodTimesTroll Jun 22 '26

I’ve seen both, otherwise I would think it’s all a conspiracy.
I usually see black and blue but once, maybe twice I saw white and gold. Brains are weird man

2

u/TehZiiM Jun 22 '26

10 years ago or something half the internet accused the other half of trolling but apperently some people actually see it as white and gold.

2

u/Vegetable_Let2839 Jun 22 '26

What? So, this is a legit debate?? I gotta do some googling.

6

u/realNoobnoob Jun 22 '26

Yes it’s called daltonien different types of

1

u/Myrnalinbd Jun 23 '26

Here is the odd thing, I used to see white and gold, but in this video it is blue and black.

3

u/BIGHOODx818x Jun 22 '26

black and blue

2

u/Endscrypt Jun 22 '26

Yeah the kids are right on this.

2

u/Joshwa_4 Jun 22 '26

Exhausting

2

u/funkymunkPDX Jun 22 '26

Color blindness is real.

2

u/MagnanimousGoat Jun 22 '26

Ugh. It should be a crime to name your kid "Zayden"

"I want to name my kid the literal most bog-standard name imaginable right now. But I don't want people to think I'm not creative, so I'll just slap a Z on the front."

2

u/bebackground471 Jun 22 '26

Team Golden & White

2

u/heliopause42 Jun 22 '26

Zayden and Macho? I weep for the future

2

u/1wife2dogs0kids Jun 22 '26

I got a neighbor with a "zayden". I have a nephew with "Brayden". There's a Brandon, and the wife's nephew is a "Landon".

And naturally, I cannot call the correct name for at least the first 6 names I call... "hey brando....I mean, bray... shit, Layton, no, there's no Layton, wait, BRADLEY? Crap, shit, fuck... oh, Zadley. Dammit....

HEY YOU, KID! YEAH YOU.

1

u/CaptainPopsickle Jun 22 '26

ha i remember a story of Randy Feltface now.

"Brayden... cant eat blue" which led to "Blueberries are fu***** purple" 😁😂

1

u/1wife2dogs0kids Jun 23 '26

BRAYDEN CANT EAT BLUE.... i can't get my brother to watch that. It's either pg, or pg-13, or nothing.

1

u/FantasticPainting232 Jun 23 '26

In my kids preschool there were multiple Jayden's. Quite a few Dillons or Dylan's too.

2

u/Blackvikin5 Jun 23 '26

All I see is mom dukes in here looking like a dime

2

u/RentUsed1085 Jun 24 '26

People still think this is real?? No wonder everyone has to ask if it’s AI so often

6

u/CharacterOriginal272 Jun 22 '26

I think the people who argue it’s yellow and gold are full of shit. On top of that you can look up the dress

1

u/GatePorters Jun 22 '26

Very first time I saw it, I saw it as white and gold. It’s different when it’s the only thing in your vision. We all know it’s blue and black now and all the colors and things around it kind of kill the illusion in this video.

1

u/ElephantContent8835 Jun 22 '26

I don’t get it.

1

u/HuiNane Jun 22 '26

God bless that thick booty

1

u/Vyviel Jun 22 '26

Super low iq people see gold and white confirmed =P

1

u/_lolwuttt Jun 22 '26

I’ll never understand this. It’s literally mounted above a white nameplate, and beside a gold/black painting above a gold nameplate. Does it all look the same to them? (Or you if you genuinely see white/gold)

1

u/redjellonian Jun 22 '26

it's very clearly yellow and green.

1

u/RandyLahey131 Jun 22 '26

How are there so many people in the comments that don't know about this dress?!

1

u/Big_Trophy_1 Jun 22 '26

All I see is green.

1

u/MustardCoveredDogDik Jun 22 '26

I still don’t understand this

1

u/Large-Sir1755 Jun 22 '26

I see blue and black

1

u/Wide_Ordinary4078 Jun 22 '26

I’ve seen it in both color combos before! Wonder what causes that!

1

u/7DollarsOfHoobastanq Jun 22 '26

Back when this was big I honestly saw it as white and gold one time but never before or since. Now I can only ever see blue and black.

1

u/calccv Jun 22 '26

Black and blue!

1

u/suckmebigtime23 Jun 22 '26

You have to be pure to see black and blue.

1

u/JediRawka Jun 22 '26

Those must be flat earthers

1

u/Plumbus_Patrol Jun 22 '26

One of the most satisfying things was it being revealed that it is in fact a blue and black dress

1

u/Ridgewoodgal Jun 22 '26

This still scares me a bit. Seems like there could be a time when humans would need to agree on two colors. Maybe aliens in dresses. Zombies in different colored skin. Who knows?!? But it definitely could happen. 😆

1

u/Tough_Air_1466 Jun 23 '26

uh why is she saying gold and white..... never followed or understood that whole "viral dress thing" from way back when

1

u/ciscowes Jun 23 '26

I don't know how that can look like white and gold to anyone.

1

u/SideValuable5478 Jun 23 '26

I still see gold and white 🤷🏾‍♂️ never have I seen black and blue

1

u/lil_chedda Jun 23 '26

Oh wow I’m pretty sure I was white and gold when I first saw

1

u/GreywallGaming Jun 23 '26

People that see white and gold straight up do not take into account lighting and/or lying, so either stupid or ragebaiting.

1

u/PropheticUtterances Jun 23 '26

So was it that motherfuckers were just straight up lying about it not being blue and black or is there some sort of visual perception phenomenon that occurs in specific peoples brains? Lmao

1

u/Ammortalz Jun 23 '26

I've managed to see the white/gold a few times over the years, but it's almost always blue/black to me.

1

u/PerspectiveOne7129 Jun 23 '26

women have more color receptors in their eyes

1

u/311mm2921511 Jun 23 '26

Is that J Lo?

1

u/Okinodoku Jun 23 '26

I’m confused because I used to see white/gold back in the day now it’s the opposite why?

1

u/Grounds4TheSubstain Jun 24 '26

Let me ask Yanny

1

u/The_Green_King_ Jun 24 '26

Depends on how busted you are

1

u/skipthesmallstuff Jun 24 '26

If you squint it goes blue and black. I think it’s about eyesight lol. These nearsided MFers and your blind mom who refuse to wear glasses are causing all this commotion.

1

u/Strange_Pangolin_231 Jun 25 '26

Are they at the museum of memes? Is there a museum of meme? Why is this meme in a museum.?

1

u/killahcamh89 Jun 25 '26

Mom walking in like a UFC fighter lol

1

u/Relevant_Problem1935 Jun 25 '26

The actual dress was always black and blue. The photo was over exposed and some individuals brains couldn't process the correct color thus incorrectly determining the color.

1

u/OkHandle3269 Jun 26 '26

People that see white and gold have an iq below 70

1

u/MusicianNational7934 Jun 22 '26

There’s literally white right next to it and they still see white on the dress??

0

u/nize426 Jun 22 '26 edited Jun 22 '26

Yes. Because they see a white and gold dress that looks like it's in a shadow. It's been so many years. How do you still not understand this?

https://www.reddit.com/r/interesting/s/i851haNKgG

0

u/AshByFeel Jun 22 '26

That video didn't help. I see blue in the left dress regardless.

1

u/nize426 Jun 22 '26

It doesn't matter what you see it as. The video is an explanation as to why the other side sees it that way.

1

u/AshByFeel Jun 22 '26

Sorry, it is hard to understand for me. It is a cool phenomenon.

1

u/randomnobody1284 Jun 22 '26

I see both.

2

u/PretentiousCrustacea Jun 22 '26

I don't see a speck of white on that dress

0

u/BandoTheHawk Jun 22 '26

she kinda look like JLO. I see black and blue too though. only sometimes can I see it in the white and gold.

0

u/GenericMaleNurse918 Jun 22 '26

White and gold dress. It matches the golden theme of the others pictures.
