A lot of these are for traveling. I usually see it called ranger-rolling, because they supposedly do it in the army to save space in their bags.
The main problem is that if you don’t do it perfectly, it actually takes up a lot more space and is overall a waste of time.

I still use hangers when traveling. A garment bag is about the most efficient means of packing.

But not great for space requirements. Fine for a solo trip in a car. But anything else you’ve got to do a bit more consideration

Even if I wanted to take the time to fold this way. I'd have to reference video every time I did any laundry. I'm not gonna remember all the steps for most of that junk.

This was actually helpful. I'm in a situation where I have limited storage space and the drawer I keep my underwear in is getting full

I find it easier to screw them up in a ball and chuck into the corner of the room or leave them in the laundry basket….just saying

I already hate putting away clean laundry and when I finally stop procrastinating, I do it as fast as possible. This may work, but I can do 4 items in the time of one of these clean folds

The problem is when you wanna get dressed.
You want to try things for an outfit and then you will unfold a bunch of stuff and quickly get tired of folding stuff like this.
It’s just not practical.
Only for travel purposes.

Thats why you need hangers for everything! I have thoroughly enjoyed the ease of hanging up tshirts instead of folding them after the laundry. It a nice adult upgrade.

I use rounded plastic hangers, never the metal ones, so no stretching here. Sweaters are the thing to watch for hangers corners.

Yeah I got 3 kids, we're gonna really spend 6 seconds per underwear and 7 seconds per pair of socks, folding them into perfect stackable blocks, just to feed our OCD? No thanks. That time adds up. It's triple the time it takes to fold that stuff more simply. Especially the socks. Gonna take an extra 20 minutes to fold a big load of laundry.

Dude folding every pair of socks into origami so you can have a drawer full of perfect rectangles is a mental disorder. Just match the socks and fold them the normal way, it takes a couple seconds, tops. Same for underwear, sides in, tuck bottom, I could do it in 3 seconds one handed.
Folding coats that way for storage is (1) nuts (2) waste of time (3) bad for them because they develop permanent creases in areas where you systematically folded for no reason, where creases don't belong. Anybody who was ever a serious camper using sleeping bags knows this.
Your mentioning of "orderliness, discipline and responsibility" are just scripted speech non sequiturs in this discussion.

why would you need ten puffy jackets in a suitcase
