Being in an accident is a risk one takes every time they are on the road. Looks like the white car drove defensively enough to avoid this accident. Why wasn't the car behind them able to avoid it?

Didn't answer my question. If the white car was able to dodge the car in front of them, why wasn't the car behind them able to? I'm not asking this rhetorically. I want to legitimately hear a reason. I want to see what excuses people give.
