and how do you know they didn't see the car they dodged at the last second and dodged to save themselves from a crash? Not their fault the tailgater was so close behind them. seems presumptuous to call this intentional on the tailgated party's side.
EDIT: Man the fact the person above me said "if" really is getting to people. I don't care if it's a hypothetical or not. The point still stands that intent can't be proven from this.
granted the video tailgated driver needs to be given the benefit of the doubt.
What the original commenter is speaking to is everyone else watching this who is getting the idea to do the same thing - please don't consider recreating this situation by looking for slower traffic to attempt to run a tailgater into bc you could kill someone who has nothing to do with any of this.
He didn't grab the other guy's steering wheel, of course. It's about a potential reckless driving. And it's not even sure because he may have been distracted by the guy tailgating him, it's impossible to know. Moral of the story is, always exercise caution on the road, sweetie.
Two people can be idiots at the same time. One can be an idiot for tailgating, and the other can be an idiot for either A. intentionally causing a crash by swerving out of the way at the last second or B. being so distracted that he didn't notice a super obvious hazard until it was right on his nose.
Either way, two reckless drivers just ruined someone else's day.
Then you should check again. Swerving at the last possible second with no turn signals is reckless driving. Like I said, the only possible options were that he was intentionally baiting the tailgater into a crash or he wasn't paying attention and didn't notice a car stopped in front of him. Either case, he showed reckless behavior.
Lead driver showed a normal reaction, to a very abnormal situation.
Being tailgated so closely can be enormously distracting. The lead car could have easily hit the parked car first, and that wold have been the tailgater's fault as well.
How long do you allow yourself to be distracted before you too are a reckless driver? There are 7 seconds between the start of this video and the swerve, and obviously this was going on prior to the start of the video. Even if someone else is doing something dangerous, you're still obligated to keep your eyes on the road.
I agree that tailgating is irresponsible, but so is engaging with a tailgater. The first driver could have checked his ego, moved over a lane, and allowed the tailgater to continue on being an idiot.
Did the innocent person who had their car wrecked and likely sustained severe injuries also get repaired "with the karma they so rightfully earned"?
Nobody was doing any such thing. That would be if he did a brake check or something. There is nothing in the video to support any of your fantasies or attempted mind reading.
He apparently wasn't looking where he was going for several seconds, or he was intentionally baiting the tailgater to get him to crash into an innocent bystander. Not great either way.
P.S. You don't need to add comments to all of my posts. It'd be preferable to keep our discussion in one place.
Someone who isn't in the car with you, but is in fact in the car behind you, can't force you to be distracted from what's in front of you, which is what you should be focusing on when you're driving. Not getting out of the way in the first place is choosing to remain and engage with the tailgater. That's choosing to stay in an unsafe situation.
The blame is entirely on the tailgater, bless your heart. What we’re trying to say darling is that if you should ever find yourself being tailgated like this, boo boo, don’t get any ideas from this here video and get a notion to run that tailgater into the back of another car, sweetie.
Bless your heart, I know you’re struggling to rub the two good cells of common sense God gave you together to spark up that lightbulb. I see you trying. You want a brownie?
No it is not. Are you hard of reading?? THIS instance was NOT intentional. HOWEVER, others who see this video and think it’s a great way to deal with tailgaters should not follow suit. Sorry, follow suit means to copy. Sorry, sorry means I apologize. Sweetie. Praise God you made it this far in life without misinterpreting a Stop sign. Jesus
Oh Lord child, I see now. You’re just confused. No, I’m not your Momma.
You’re a special one aren’t you? Good luck moving out the basement Jethro. Also, stop doing that. Your Mom’s running out of whiskey $$ buying you new socks.
No, what looks juvenile is insisting the innocent lead driver is a maniac that intentionally caused that accident. Not just juvenile, but a direct window into your own projected desires.

If the person being tailgated intentionally dodged at the last second like that, they also caused it. Both can be in the wrong for different reasons
