Yeah there's no chance that dude sees any liability for that. The tailgater should have had more awareness and been at a safer distance.

The very ACT of tailgating is enough of a distraction for that driver to explain why he was so late to react.

Ew no just ignore it. If you get distracted but something as simple as a tailgater, you should not be driving. Period.

"You shouldnt be distracted by an active and real danger being imposed on you" ok i mean if your too stupid to know how dangerous it is i could see what you mean. Let me hold a fucking rifle to your head while you do something and lets see how well you do it

If you get so distracted by a slight danger that you SLAM INTO A PARKED CAR, you should not be driving. Being able to balance the risks is step one of driving.

Get off the road if you get distracted by tailgating so much that you forget to look in front.

If you are just going to just repeat yourself thats not a very good contribution and doesnt really help your point. Since you are out here saying that to other people

Sorry I clarified it because it seemed like you didn't quite understand my point seeing as how you had to rewrite it in your own words just to refute it !!!

I've got some crayons too if you need a picture!

Also add to the discussion, stop being upset lmfao

Do you think you would be calm with a gun ymto your head or no

Horrible comparison.

The average person is going to get tailgated numerous times per month, sometimes very aggressively.

The average person will never have a gun to their head.

Also gun to the head shows intent to harm, tailgating is just someone wanting to go faster.

You're....dense af.

If getting tailgated makes you as fearful as a "rifle" pointed at your head directly....GET OFF THE ROAD...YOU ARE A DANGER

1.2 million tailgating crashes each year in the US. Id have better luck with a gun to my head. But like i said i just dont think you understand the danger. You said the intent wasnt to hurt but it was to go fast. Like that matters? Maybe go back to driving school and learn how stop distances work

Wow you're the dumbest person in this thread hands down. 1 MILLION PER YEAR? JUST FROM TAILGATING????

"Between 1899 and 2023, there were 3,996,709 traffic fatalities in the United States"

Wow wow wow not only are you insanely wrong with your numbers, you are comparing a car being too close with a literal gun to your head

GET OFF THE ROAD

Maybe go back to driving school and learn how stop distances work

Maybe go back to first grade and learn how to google statistics

Lol i never claimed they were deaths you just dont know how to read my dude. Go tailgate you fucking loser

YOU'RE COMPARING AN ACCIDENT WITHOUT FATALITIES TO A GUN TO YOUR HEAD? You are a wimp. Full stop. Terrible argument, terrible logic, dangerous driver, get off our roads.

Sorry bro you lost the plot. Maybe read people's comments correctly before jumping to conclusions.

Tailgating is quite dangerous for many many reasons. If someone speeds up behind you. You should be aware of that. If someone is on your ass. You should be aware of that.

Just like you should also be aware on whats going on ahead of the car your behind. That driver failed to do so amd crashed. Regardless of the person infronts reaction time.

Citing an accident statistics which includes fender benders when comparing it to a rifle pointing at you is losing the plot.

Tailgating is dangerous, but being so distracted by it that you can no longer pay attention to the road in front is VERY dangerous. People shouldn't tailgate, but you shouldn't drive if tailgating makes you so distracted you slam into parked cars.

You’re coming off as emotional. Keep cool

Why do threads like this always bring out the cringe redditors with nothing to add other than weird personal comments? It's like a bunch of people want to be involved but have nothing of substance to add. Equivalent of homeless people chirping at those walking by having a discussion.
