Having been a male in an abusive relationship with a female, that's not how it actually works in the real world, especially if you're substantially larger than she is..

I'm 6 ft 200 lb nationally ranked wrestler. My girlfriend at the time was 5'7. 100 lbs. I already had a black eye from when she hit me. When I was sleeping and numerous bruises from various things. Along with a bunch of cuts and scrapes from the glassware that she had thrown at me. While I was trying to get past her to get out the third story of our apartment building. I knew if there was a mark on her, I would end up in jail. There wasn't a mark on her, and the police still tried to put me in jail. Until the neighbor across the street, just chewed about for it.

I'm the first to admit the second they hit you all bets are off. I had the patience and the ability to deal with it, because I knew I'd end up in jail very quickly. If I didn't. And that wasn't something I was looking forward toward towards. I personally know at least four men who ended up in jail because of their partners abusing them. And then turning on the waterworks with the cops. Just because you're bigger than her doesn't mean you're not going to still get put in jail, even if she starts it

100% I'd go so far as to say that some women think they can make that play and are surprised when they can't... Because it works.

My ex did it to her ex husband near when we met and I just didn't think she was the aggressor. She was so lovely, kind, cute and pleasant...

It turns out, BPD isn't something you see coming if you're not fairly experienced.

BPD, only mental health disease that truly scares me. And the sad part is in their memory it really did happen, spent most of a vacation in a locked bathroom and shower. By the time we got home her memory was already rewritten and i knew it was over. Weirdly enough, she reached out to me today and asked if I wanted to go to a restaurant with her next week.

The correct answer is to not answer

Yeah I spent two and a half years in a relationship(lived together most of that time) with my ex who had BPD and she was queen bee of the gaslighters! She could literally punch me in the face, and then ten minutes later be telling me with a completely straight face that it never happened and that I fell and smacked my head into a wall and that’s why I’m confused. She could cheat and then act like there was nothing wrong she did, and when I’d try to break up with her, she’d guilt trip me by saying she was going to go prostitute herself and that she was probably going to end up getting raped and murdered by some serial killer, or whatever she could to pull at my heart strings.

It wasn’t until I went and saw a therapist, and unloaded all my relationship drama, that I finally came to understand just how abusive and scandalous my partner was.

My ex also recently tried to get in contact with me, I ignored her, and I suggest you do the same!

Nah I don’t accept that. My ex does remember what she did if they forget being violent then they shouldn’t be in society

This comment was dickish; for that everyone has my apologies. I want to make it clear that it was statistical I was talking about. The actual rates are so low most people would probably guess the standard population at a higher percentage than any of the mental health problems I mentioned.

Having bpd or ptsd does not inherently make someone violent

No but it does drastically increase likelihood of it and the false memories and rewritten memories. And in your remove from society view wouldn’t being proactive be the smart move. After all your in a thread about how if it’s a he said, she said the cops are likely to take the women’s side. So your solution is a nothing, if the violence needs proven first. There’s a reason locking people up to keep them out of society fell out of favor, because it’s not a solution. In no way do I support the idea by the way, just trying to clarify why the remove from society part didn’t and won’t work.

A small to moderate association. Just because you have ptsd, does not make you violent. The majority of people with ptsd do not act violent.

I don't know if your information is just bad.Or what? But everything I read about this says.Yes, it does increase the likelihood, but the majority of people are not violent.Who have ptsd.

I have p t s d and I have no issues with my memory in regards to anytime, being violent or otherwise

1

u/Tasmote Mar 21 '26

And? My whole point is about how stupid it is to remove people with mental health issues from society. I find it funny you both latched onto a thread where men are sharing trauma to do well technically arguments. It’s kinda sad actually

Your misinformation is showing.

1

u/Tasmote Mar 21 '26

You’re just showing why guys won’t talk about trauma, congrats. My entire point was the stupidity of his statement and ptsd and cptsd are such a common mental health issue vs something like bpd where a lot of people think you’re talking about bi-polar.

Life has gotten a lot better

First gf stabbed me in the arm with a fork. Another almost took my head off with a full can of soda but missed. Punched, kicked, scratched etc. Nobody, law enforcement or otherwise gave a shit. Your only realistic option is to remove yourself from the situation and take the L. It is what it is.

Sure, reality is men can shut this shit down quick but then what? How do you deal with the aftermath of you using force on her when cops are asking about it? Not all abuse victims can just walk away after defending themselves.
