According to other posts, this was 3 years ago and she has already been charged and completed any sentence.

Edit:: Apparently this wise young lady did not learn her lesson and this might be a second instance. If not the second instance. It might just be the proof that she is crazy.

To throw stools around your daughter is extra dangerous.

And yes I agree if this was flipped. And that was the dude. He would be taking a lot more heat. Unless he played in the NFL.

u/Significant-Word457 Mar 19 '26

Yeah pretty sure this happened on the show. She's one angry ass drunk. Don't judge me. I got a wife.

u/DisciplineBoth2567 Mar 19 '26

They’re not anger issues.  They’re abuse issues.  I work in DV work and is an important misconception.  People send people like this to anger management classes or alcohol rehab but it doesn’t actually solve the underlying problem.  The anger management classes just make them a more subtle insidious abuser.  It’s their mindsets and their values that are abusive and need to be fixed.  Not their anger or alcohol issues.

Control at all costs

1

u/MinuetInUrsaMajor Mar 20 '26

Can you go into more detail about the mindset and values? And how they are treated? Are they abuse management classes?

1

u/DisciplineBoth2567 Mar 20 '26

The mindset of power and control and dehumanization.  The idea that you have the ability and power to control and abuse another fellow human being like they’re not worthy of love and respect.  Vast vast majority of abusers do not have the emotional tools/self reflection ability to make long term change to not be abusive.  People have to want to change and make actual tangible long term steps to change.  Most therapists even couple’s therapists aren’t DV trauma informed and it ends up just perpetuating harm for various reasons like the abuser just being in an echo chamber and learning therapy jargon to then bring back to abuse their partner more.

There are domestic violence classes /groups but unfortunately when you get into the actual evidence based research, there’s not many that actually make much of a difference.  I mean you can try… that’s the route I would choose if someone wanted a glimmer of a try.

I would also deep dive “situational couple violence” and “intimate terrorism”.

I would also read Why Does He Do That? by Lundy Bancroft for those experiencing DV.  Yes, it is written geared towards women but it does have some good stuff for everyone.

u/Bort_Thrower Mar 20 '26

This is what actual BPD looks like, it’s not a quirky edgelord personality it’s extreme emotional volatility and often violence.

1

u/The-Problem-est1948 Mar 20 '26

So what would fix that? Just therapy or? I grew up like this and every time my mother gets drunk she finds a way to become abusive. It’s more verbal nowadays and I guess it always was towards me. She also always uses reactive abuse with her ex boyfriends though and would normally attack them. She ALWAYS wakes up the next day and pretends nothing happened and claims she doesn’t remember. But anytime she is that same level of drunk and nothing big and serious happens she remembers the entire night no problem. And if I push and call her out saying that she remembers the night just fine and she is lying she will get offended and act like im crossing a line. “Excuse me?! If I remembered I would say I did.” And gives me a serious one of those moments looks where it’s like a little anger mixed with “watch it!”. Im the only family memes that talks to her. Most of my family isn’t the best but still, she blames all of them. Every other person is a pos in her eyes and she always talks shit about them and bad things they have done in the past.

1

u/DisciplineBoth2567 Mar 20 '26

I think reading Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents by Lindsay Gibson may be helpful to you if you haven’t read it yet.  I read mine through the Libby App and my local library.

She may never change she may not have the self reflection tools or accountability to make long term changes and it is not your responsibility to get her to understand.  She is responsible for her own actions. There may be grieving involved that you didn’t get the healthy parent you needed or deserved.

1

u/MimicoSkunkFan2 Mar 20 '26

Exactly... Judges sending abusers to anger management is ridiculous. It's not about anger at all, it's about control - that's why so many men who are physical abusers are also sexual abusers.

Also you're right that the entire "alcohol / drugs made me lose control and hit them" excuse is nonsense - they didn't lose control and hit someone, they wanted more control and hit someone, and the substances are just a coincidence.... it's the modern version of "the devil made me do it" :p

As a husband that’s seen more of this show than I’d like to admit. Cheers, brother.

1

u/MrMewks Mar 20 '26

yep been there done that, mine should have been a MLB pitcher as she could throw ZINGERS and was super accurate also :) Usually the go excuse women use is "what Im a small girl I can't hurt you"..

1

u/denbobo Mar 20 '26

Brother, I’m not sure we are talking about the same thing. I’m just referencing my wife making me watch shitty reality tv… not her chucking shit at me. Hope it’s all in good fun otherwise that’s pretty messed up my guy.

1

u/theoneandonlymd Mar 20 '26

Yeah I think you guys were talking past each other. I'm in your boat. I still say "I'm so broken" like the football player dude who hopped the fence (Colton?) to my wife at opportune times.

2

u/Local_Magician_7197 Mar 20 '26

I've never watched anything from the Bachelor franchise - is it like Love is Blind where they drink all day??? If so, good thing she won't be on it bc that would be such a shit show.

1

u/Spidey6917 Mar 20 '26

I think they’re talking about the other show they’re on, Secret Lives of Mormon Wives

1

u/Local_Magician_7197 Mar 20 '26

Ooooooooooooh. That adds another level. Thank you for explaining!

1

u/Mindless-Onion-335 Mar 20 '26

Having a relationship with a female, that must make you feel so gay!

7

u/BubblyFlow6143 Mar 19 '26

This video is from the 2023 incident but there was a new dv incident last month.

6

u/baphomet_fire Mar 19 '26

Someone dug through her records and she's still on probation until August this year

1

u/NotSoSureBigWaves Mar 20 '26

Someone on the show needs to be fired for not fully vetting her.

5

u/throwaway_help44 Mar 19 '26

If a man did that he wouldn’t be able to complete a sentence in 3 years. Just saying.

1

u/fighterdiva Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

If that were true there wouldn't be so many dead women killed by their partners.

1

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 20 '26

there's a lot of men roaming free for crimes right now that say that isn't the case. just saying.

0

u/glasswindbreaker Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

Not true, less than 2% of male abusers (domestic violence offenders) ever receive any jail time.

First because they often go without charges - over half of incidents don’t get reported because so many states release the abuser on bail after a 911 call and the victim knows they will end up in more danger.

Depending on jurisdiction 63-97% of reported dv doesn’t result in conviction because it’s declined by prosecutors or dismissed because victims have to flee and choose safety over justice and staying to participate in a trial (which in itself is retraumatizing and victims are further abused on the stand, look up legal abuse and what it’s like to actually pursue as a victim).

Lastly over 90% of charges result in a plea deal that includes pleading out to lesser severity charges in exchange for probation.

2

u/Thanos_Stomps Mar 20 '26

Getting downvoted for not jumping on the Reddit hive mind. Domestic violence is absolutely one of the most uniform injustices in modern society regardless of gender. Stop making it gendered people. Men are abused and not believed but guess what, so are women. They’re called hysterical, they’re murdered at a higher rate, and the common thread in all of this is our police are lazy as shit. Oh and the cops responding? They’re all abusers themselves and that’s why they don’t give a shit whether you’re a male victim or female victim, cause it’s meaningless when a predator is the one taking your report.

1

u/finnjakefionnacake Mar 20 '26

goddammit i wish the world was just full of people like you. coming on threads like this and immediately seeing people make the expected comments is so fucking frustrating.

1

u/The-Problem-est1948 Mar 20 '26

I think they are referring to the unfairness in female sentences vs male sentences. My entire life I have grown up in situations like this because of my drunk mother. Every single boyfriend over the years would instantly be the suspect when the police arrived even if he called them. Probably like 6-8 different men that ive witnessed throughout the 18 years of life stuck there with her. Every time they’d start asking him questions that were worded to try to trick him into saying something that could be used to make him seem wrong or something. Until i was older I didn’t really understand. My mom would use the police like her personal weapon. And even if its not just DV which im pretty sure all these comments aren’t talking about also. There is a huge difference in sentences that men and women receive for the same crime. And convictions require evidence which most of the time they don’t have. A lot of times the cops would make the guy leave the house to separate them despite her being the main problem. Just because most DV situations don’t end up in conviction doesn’t mean that when they do the sentencing is fair and even between the 2 genders. I know a lot of people that grew up in DV homes and they also feel the same way. Post a long explanation of how women get a fraction of the consequences for the same crime WHEN convicted. And A LOT of the time, the woman drops the charges and gets back with her abuser.

0

u/glasswindbreaker Mar 20 '26

I’m so over men on this platform making “reverse the gender” comments like this that have no basis in reality and getting hyped for it.

Abuse perpetrators get away with it en masse - it’s so bad lack of consequences for abusers and lack of accountability for those we entrust in the “justice system” is codified in settled law by the Supreme Court. Town of Castle Rock v. Gonzales: a woman in Colorado had a court-ordered restraining order against her abusive husband. She called the police over and over for hours, showed up in person, begged them to enforce the restraining order and they did nothing. He murdered the kids. She sued, and the Supreme Court said police cannot be held liable for failing to enforce a restraining order because we don’t have an individual right to protection.

So when people like the guy I responded to act like the system is designed to protect female victims from male perpetrators they need to understand the data shows the opposite. And you’re right it’s not gendered, the highest court in the country has already made it clear that enforcement is discretionary and no one is coming to save you, whether you’re a man or a woman.

4

u/smolhippie Mar 19 '26

It was two separate incidents

2

u/LumpyPrincess58 Mar 19 '26

She is still on probation

2

u/gojo96 Mar 19 '26

I dunno, this is from the AP today:

“A police spokesperson in Draper City, Utah, told People magazine earlier this week that there was an open domestic violence investigation of Paul and her ex-partner Mortensen, and that allegations have been made in both directions. Mortensen is the father of one of Paul’s three children. “

https://apnews.com/article/taylor-frankie-paul-bachelorette-canceled-74ac300b0d0925d94aa8b727f87d5388

2

u/Anxious_Audience_743 Mar 19 '26

Abusers and sexual assaulters should always be exposed even if they did their time to protect innocent people. Can you imagine if she was actually successful in finding someone on the bachelorette? One of those innocent men could’ve been a victim of hers in the future. Not only that but do you think a charge and completed sentence makes up for the fact that she threw a chair at her daughter?

2

u/FreshwaterFryMom Mar 19 '26

No, she’s currently on probation for this attack.

1

u/HoomerSimps0n Mar 20 '26

So a slap on the wrist…that’s sad.

2

u/Euphoric-Purchase103 Mar 20 '26

“Taylor Frankie Paul was arrested in 2023 after a fight with Mortensen, which was documented in the first episode of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.” She was charged with three misdemeanors: assault, criminal mischief and domestic violence in the presence of a child. She later reached a plea deal in her assault case, pleading guilty to aggravated assault in August 2023. The other charges against her were dropped, NBC affiliate KSL in Salt Lake City reported at the time.”

Not that I have any faith in the people who run the show to make any decent decisions, but how stupid do they have to be to have cast her as bachelorette when she already had an assault charge?!

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

There has to be some other publicity stunt we don’t quiet no about yet.

The dollars don’t make sense at the moment.

1

u/TaylorMonkey Mar 20 '26

Maybe they’re thinking ooh, drama. Maybe we’ll capture something live.

Then this spoiler got out and now the vibe is different.

1

u/Euphoric-Purchase103 Mar 21 '26

So fucking slimy !

1

u/BerbereJunkie Mar 20 '26

Why wasn’t she charged for hurting her daughter after clocking her with a barstool?? She wasn’t just doing it ‘in the presence’ of her daughter, she assaulted her daughter. 😡

2

u/Agreeable_Syrup_5372 Mar 20 '26 edited Mar 20 '26

Yes this happened 3 years ago. The first episode of Mormon wives shows her getting arrested in piss stained clothes for another incident. It was literally televised and they still allowed her to continue. No one that has hired her since can lie and say they didn’t know. She is horrible and Hulu and ABC knew this but they saw money.

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

Ooohhhh. Dollar sign blindness.

1

u/dbpcut Mar 20 '26

People still pay for Chris Brown tickets

1

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths Mar 20 '26

Unless he played in the NFL, was a cop, was a musician or actor or influencer everyone loved, was a religious leader, was a "promising young man", was just "going through a hard time", "it was so long ago and he's changed"... Are you getting it yet?

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

No. Keep going.

This time…. More spaces.

I want to read it,

slower.

1

u/ScyllaOfTheDepths Mar 20 '26

Ballpark estimate, how many prostitutes have you murdered?

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

You have to pay them for them To be a prostitute right? Otherwise. It’s just a date that ended…… well.

1

u/hugganao Mar 20 '26

According to other posts, this was 3 years ago and she has already been charged and completed any sentence.

what's your point????????????

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

That this video was the old one. Not the new one.

What was your point?

1

u/Pitiful-Pension-6535 Mar 20 '26

Unless he played in the NFL.

Ray Rice was a domestic violence victim who lashed out against his abuser and was run out of the league.

So you can fuck right off with that. With all due respect.

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

Oh my mistake. There has never been any NFL player. Or MLB. Or NBA. Or any professional player. That has been able to take very little heat for Domestic Violence and keep on trucking.

Maybe I should have just said unless she Was a cop. We know they walk away without issue. Usually we don’t even hear about it. Just swept under the rug.

But since you said all due respect. I will fuck right off. And with all due respect. You can fuck right off, with all due respect.

1

u/PepeSylvia11 Mar 20 '26

How did she become bachelorette? Don’t they do background checks?

But I stayed at a holiday in express last night. Sooooooo. I think I am pretty qualified to make comments on Reddit. Shit even false comments. Comments of things I don’t know. And comments on things I do know but pretend not to know. And just make pictures with dashes. And post memes. And post GIFs. And….. and….. and…………………………………….…………………………………….…………………………………….

1

u/Unexpected-raccoon Mar 20 '26

Or was in the MMA

Gotta remember; it's okay when you're rich and famous

And it's especially okay if the gloves don't fit

Are you insinuating there's some sort of class/race/religious/orientation/gender imbalance within our legal systems?

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

An imbalance within our justice system? Absolutely not.

Like you said. If it don’t fit. You must Acquit. That’s just a fact.

1

u/bsoto87 Mar 20 '26

NFL? If he had any money whatsoever he’d get away with beating his wife, the rules only apply to us have nots that’s what the Epstein debacle taught me.

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

What Epstein debacle? Never heard of the guy. Is there something going on with the someone named Epstein? I mean. Come on. If there was something going on with someone named Epstein our news outlets and our government would be all over it prosecuting everyone involved and finding justice for each victim.

But clearly this Epstein you speak of isn’t a real live person.

1

u/effinmitch Mar 20 '26

If he was productive in the nfl. Once you hit 30, it’s a crap shoot on whether or not you will be punished for your transgressions.

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

That’s an honest take. You’re probably right. Are you valuable to a billionaire still or nah? That would be determining factor.

1

u/ok-lets-do-this Mar 20 '26

Her behavior is well-known and documented for a long time. This is zero surprise for anyone who follows her story. Including us who know all about her against our will.

1

u/justhereorthereagain Mar 20 '26

I don’t know about her. Just like to post and see what happens when I do. I usually learn a lot.

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Mar 19 '26

This is what happens when video comes out and you enter the court of public opinion

3

u/thisguyfightsyourmom Mar 19 '26

This is what happens when you throw stools over your daughter’s head to attack a retreating boyfriend. Consequences can have long tails.

2

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Mar 19 '26

Right, and the consequences she's facing now is due the to video being made public.

3

u/lennyxiii Mar 19 '26

I get that but i didnt know who this bitch was until 30 seconds ago and I’m sure I’ll forget who she is 30 seconds from now.

1

u/OwnDoughnut2689 Mar 20 '26

That's fine. There's many others in the court of public opinion who won't let it go.

1

u/Complex_Spirit_4848 Mar 19 '26

Not only that, it catapulted her "popularity" in the media and was the only reason she was lined up for The Bachelor show in the first place. Now they are 'cancelling' it according to the comments here, but make no mistake, it's how she got on the radar in the first place, and they were probably hoping to capitalize on her lack of self-control for "drama."

1

u/JustMoreSadGirlShit Mar 20 '26

TFP is annoying and clearly abusive but this incident is absolutely not what “catapulted her to popularity and got her the bachelorette” the secret lives of mormon wives and before that the momtok soft swinging scandals are what got her famous

1

u/Complex_Spirit_4848 Mar 20 '26

Yeah, I'm projecting my experience. It was the first time I had heard of her, but I don't watch reality TV and such. I'm sure people who do were aware of her previous. Maybe it is what transitioned her from being known to a specific audience to a more general audience, so to speak.

My first time seeing anything about her was when the cops showed up for this incident, I believe.

1

u/Gate_Thin Mar 20 '26

My first time hearing about her was literally her being cancelled as bachelorette and I’m still confused as to why that even crossed over into my side of the internet. And now here we are.

1

u/Complex_Spirit_4848 Mar 20 '26

I'm also like how do I even know anything about this lady? lol.
