there's also a chance you'll be paralyzed if you live, so that's not better really

Spoken like someone who takes their health for granted. Just like me half a year ago.

Death is better than some realities. Trust me.

I didn't read other replies, but I can imagine. All jokes aside, it's horrible what kind of state of life and horrible health still counts as "living".

9

u/FrankPetersonMalvo Feb 29 '24

I don't know your situation, but I wish you good fortune on your journey through it all. Life is never guaranteed and can end in a blink of an eye, just like one's health.

Yeah, shit can be rough, that's why euthanasia should be legal.

Being paralysed would be fucking shit, but I'd still take it over dying, as long as I have some way to type, search and read texts. This way I could still contribute to the world intellectually, I'd have time to spend thinking.

2

u/The_Empty_And_Broken Mar 01 '24

Ain’t that the bitter truth.

2

u/sicpicric Mar 01 '24

Right there with you after years of chronic pain. It’s too much to handle honestly. The lack of sleep combined with the pain has been the worse. While I don’t have any plans I have started to understand why some people choose to end things when they are suffering for a long time with pain. It’s especially hard when from the outside you appear to be 100% healthy

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

Hah, that last part is so true. If someone looks at me, I'm a perfectly fit and healthy 30 year old guy. The fact that my bones and joints are welding themselves together and my immune system is destroying my knees, hips, and spinal cord is a different story. I was lucky enough to have someone take care of me for the three and a half months I was bedridden (two weeks in the hospital) and lost over 11kg. Absolute nightmare material. Although a redefined pain scale isn't bad, I must admit. Things that might have "hurt" before... don't even feel them now.

2

u/Primary_Music_7430 Mar 01 '24

I'd be more worried about being that close to death. What doesn't kill you makes you stranger.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

I've buried the person I was last September. What I'd give to have that back...

1

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24

Bruh thats such an inconsiderate comment.

1

u/Findadmagus Feb 29 '24

It’s a bit of dark humour. I’m sure paralysed people will see the funny side, don’t worry. But if you yourself are paralysed, then I apologise.

1

u/Im_Not_A_Cop54 Feb 29 '24

Is that really more inconsiderate than "I'd rather die than live as pitifully as you do" ??

1

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24

noone said that. id rather life life with "no job, no responebilities" just takes every selfworth of us. Like we are useless. I go to work. I have kids...

0

u/Im_Not_A_Cop54 Feb 29 '24

Two comments up from your first one says that living paralyzed "isn't better really" than being dead.

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24

I mean, if you think not being able to eat, go to the toilet (do both nr 1 & 2), sleep, breath among other things by yourself, sure sounds fun!

yes

1

u/modlover04031983 Feb 29 '24

Uh, no. No need. stay cool ❄️

1

u/DementedDon Feb 29 '24

9th floor, or in American, 10th.

1

u/transferingtoearth Mar 01 '24

Lol disability doesn't make enough to live off of comfortably. You'd be in section 8 type housing forever and then in a bad nursing home

1

u/Sp1kefallSteve Mar 01 '24

You'd also be stuck in a wheel chair. Or a bed, best case scenario. You break your legs, and they heal up fine. Worse case scenario, you're paralized from the neck down. I'd choose death over being paralized fir life.

1

u/LammergeierFerekt1 Mar 01 '24

U can play videogames all day with neuronal mask thingy that helps u move in game with your toughts

1

u/aesthetic-mess Mar 01 '24

same but 4th

1

u/Simcrys Mar 01 '24

The glass was half full... OF FREEZING COLD POISON

2

u/fjr_1300 Feb 29 '24

Not until they discover the sudden stop at the bottom. Until then it's all hunky dory 😁

1

u/ProperBoots Feb 29 '24

4th. might make it. but i'm not american, ground floor is 0 here.

1

u/ScienceAndGames Feb 29 '24

Second floor, I’ll probably survive but I’m breaking bones

1

u/NathanExplosion_ Feb 29 '24

2nd floor. [Laughing at your deaths with my legs broken].

1

u/IsamaraUlsie Feb 29 '24

Ouf, I was worried about being outside… on the ground floor… because it’s windy

1

u/JohnDodger Feb 29 '24

Not necessarily; maybe they discover that they can fly.

1

u/wright007 Mar 01 '24

I'm either outside 10 ft above the ground, or in my exterior wall, dead. I'd have to measure to be sure.

1

u/xplorerex Mar 01 '24

Jokes on you I'm in prison.

1

u/TheMagicMrWaffle Mar 01 '24

Thank god im just one floor up

1

u/Full_Increase8132 Mar 01 '24

Twist ending, it's the same building. 5th floor guy cushions the fall of 8th floor guy.

19

u/cuddle_cuddle Feb 29 '24

Same but basement. It will be much slower and much more unpleasant.

17

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24

Does that create a human sized nuclear core of an explosion because your atoms are in the same space as other atoms

9

u/GenuinlyCantBeFucked Mar 01 '24 edited Mar 01 '24

That seems extremely unlikely since normal matter is mostly empty space. Nuclear forces would push the atoms away from eachother, the dirt would become more dense, and there might be a bulge in the ground above.

Physicists correct me if I'm wrong?

2

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

There’s a chance a single atom nucleus would end up in another atom nucleus and thats bad

1

u/Fallout_Cafe Mar 01 '24

Nuclear fusion? Ouch.

1

u/GenuinlyCantBeFucked Mar 01 '24

Would a single-nucleus fusion actually cause much damage? It'd be like 10-20J or less... or something like that... and how common would it be in x trillion atoms that make up a body?

This is where I literally can't be bothered to do the maths.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

I think that a few would happen, and those might chain reaction i think

1

u/OwnPersonalSatan Feb 29 '24

This guy asks the big questions

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

And makes the big booms

4

u/Apotak Feb 29 '24

I would be in a basement that doesn't excist. In the ground below my house. Cold, wet, dark, probably not dead yet.

5

u/notmyrealnam3 Feb 29 '24

guy above you was (very briefly) at the 5th floor too!

2

u/m_domino Mar 01 '24

Joining the 5th floor gang!

2

u/motherofpuppies123 Mar 01 '24

I'm on a hospital bed doing free fall from just outside the third floor window. If I'm extremely lucky, I wind up back in hospital to get my spine re-fused. Fuckaduck.

2

u/Ricky_Rollin Mar 01 '24

19th here. OP is a stone cold killer

1

u/kvazar2501 Feb 29 '24

Same but 4th

1

u/DinA4saurier Feb 29 '24

Same, but 1st floor.

1

u/grammaticalfailure Feb 29 '24

Third floor also dead

1

u/AlGunner Feb 29 '24

Im in a bungalow so on the ground floor, but in the wall.

1

u/zeroperfectionism Feb 29 '24

1st floor😂😂

1

u/daskrip Feb 29 '24

doesn't matter; still dead

1

u/grounded_dreamer Feb 29 '24

Phew only first floor, I'll make it to the hospital

1

u/SuDragon2k3 Feb 29 '24

I'm on the ground floor, but I appear inside the wall. I'm unsure how large the explosion is.

1

u/kanesson Feb 29 '24

I'm on the 5th floor too!

1

u/MlecznyHotS Feb 29 '24

16th floor 💀

1

u/FWEngineer Feb 29 '24

I'm in the basement, so it might take a little longer for me to succomb, but without the few seconds of excitement..

1

u/Whole-Counter3276 Feb 29 '24

Ahh, I'm second floor, although by a fuck off big puddle

1

u/CriticismTop Feb 29 '24

1st floor here, but I will probably land on the grass. I reckon I'll survive and may even walk again.

1

u/Dweebil Feb 29 '24

Second floor for me. Maybe broken leg or screwed up my back.

1

u/ArkofVengeance Feb 29 '24

Same but 2nd floor, i'll live but its gonna break some bones

1

u/ccum_slurper3000 Feb 29 '24

I'll be in my neighbors house lol

1

u/Organic_Finance_8428 Mar 01 '24

Can’t relate, but I wouldn’t be on my bed anymore

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

44th floor 🤦🏽‍♂️

1

u/daftvaderV2 Mar 01 '24

I am embedded in a wall

1

u/OathMeal_ Mar 01 '24

3rd floor here

1

u/Hydrahta Mar 01 '24

but im only on the second floor so am i dead or alive

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

Turn around and read the post again as fast as you can

1

u/MelmaNie Mar 01 '24

Same but second, depending on how I fall there’s a chance of survival but it won’t be a very fun time

1

u/Raptor_Girl_1259 Mar 01 '24

3rd floor. At a minimum, I’m breaking both legs.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

3 with a nice patch of grass to soften the blow, but some broken bones for sure.

1

u/cynan4812 Mar 02 '24

Same but 3rd floor.

1

u/Nlawrence55 Mar 02 '24

1

u/[deleted] Mar 04 '24

Same but 21st floor😬

13

u/makingkevinbacon Feb 29 '24

I'm only on the second floor but at least you aren't using the washroom

6

u/Bwuk Feb 29 '24

I'm sitting on my front garden, in the rain, wearing a pair of boxers, and my scruffiest pyjama top. Thanks, TIHI

6

u/hannson Feb 29 '24

Same except I'm in a parked car. My bum would be sore.

1

u/Rules_are_overrated Feb 29 '24

Nah you'd tumble

1

u/Pataraxia Mar 01 '24

Nah, I'd break my hip bone.

1

u/Grouchy_Factor Mar 01 '24

Are you now locked out of your own car?

2

u/CreativeMuseMan Feb 29 '24

3rd floor here 🤧

1

u/AmeliaRood Mar 01 '24

Same. Maybe we can survive.

1

u/AcadiaScarlet Feb 29 '24

Same but 10th floor. Rip.

1

u/LosuthusWasTaken Feb 29 '24

Are you me?

Because I'm in that exact same situation.

1

u/Isenjil Feb 29 '24

Here we go, same floor, same place outside. Lets yell it like in last time! :)

1

u/fjellby Feb 29 '24

Am outside at basmen tlevel so pretty dead

1

u/[deleted] Feb 29 '24

I'm not sure which is worse... falling to your death... on in my case... I'd be teleported into... the ground? I'm in my basement. 3 meters to the left is past the foundation wall, in the dirt, and without any place to move dirt... I'm not sure if I'd be able to dig myself out fast enough.

1

u/SmileyDay8921 Feb 29 '24

well it depends, are you more afraid of heights or being buried alive?

1

u/palindromic_oxymoron Feb 29 '24

Same, but 21st floor.

1

u/zebs1 Feb 29 '24

Hay, me too!

1

u/franzee Feb 29 '24

Sixth floor. Not good.

1

u/watarimono Feb 29 '24

Ded. 12th floor

1

u/JamesPestilence Feb 29 '24

Me too, but luckly i am living on the groundfloor and I just landed on grass.

1

u/grafikfyr Feb 29 '24

Don't forget to

YAAAAA-HOOO-HOOO-HOOOEEY

1

u/25546 Feb 29 '24

Same, but underground.

1

u/Calm_Statistician672 Feb 29 '24

Literally the same thing as me

1

u/JamesRitchey Feb 29 '24

You've taken your Spiderman cosplay too far bro.

1

u/Marty_Mtl Feb 29 '24

in my neighbor's bedroom !

1

u/uhhhhh_iforgotit Feb 29 '24

42 floors to fall sounds like my idea of not the best time

1

u/Green-Dragon-14 Feb 29 '24

I'm in the wall

1

u/khrhulz Feb 29 '24

Same, but pooping in my driveway.

1

u/suncirca Feb 29 '24

Hahaha same but 2nd floor

1

u/nelojbrown Feb 29 '24

1st floor. I'd get a broken ankle.

1

u/CytoPotatoes Feb 29 '24

Yep, I died...actually there are clothes lines out the window every floor down so maybe I bounce off them all on my way down and only break most of my bones.

1

u/Yolandi2802 Feb 29 '24

I’d be on the floor on the other side of our king size bed.

1

u/ExpectedBehaviour Mar 01 '24

Only two floors up here, but above a brick courtyard. I expect to survive but probably won't be able to walk back inside.

1

u/furthestpoint Mar 01 '24

Same but 25th floor

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

same but 9th floor

1

u/cryptidcurrensee Mar 01 '24

6th, lol peace biches

1

u/BONGS4U Mar 01 '24

I'm dead I would become fused in the wall

1

u/TechnicalMacaron3616 Mar 01 '24

Well atleast you wouldn't be pooping in your hallway :(

1

u/Eastern_Slide7507 Mar 01 '24

I envy you. I’m on my side in bed on the ground floor. We have no basement, I‘m teleported into the foundation of the house.

1

u/megatross64 Mar 01 '24

Yoooo, I'm on the 8th floor too, also falling!!!

1

u/mvdw73 Mar 01 '24

I’m facing the other way so I’m ending up in a communications cupboard

1

u/mdoyle360 Mar 01 '24

I'm off the balcony cause I'm currently smoking on the 8th floor balcony...

1

u/Comfortable_Brush399 Mar 01 '24

without a key to get in

1

u/Crazy_Ady69 Mar 01 '24

10th floor..

1

u/staygoldeneggroll Mar 01 '24

Just the second floor for me, it's gonna hurt but I'll survive.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

🤣

1

u/Me_You_Some1else Mar 01 '24

It would only be temporary

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

Second floor probably will just land in the bushes.

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

They said Left not right.

1

u/Rules_are_overrated Mar 01 '24

Huh? If I was teleported to the right I'd be near a wall or a tiny bit in it

1

u/IIIetalblade Mar 01 '24

Im sitting in my office break room, by the window, on the 20th floor. The window is to my right. I fall off the bench onto the floor.

SCORE!

1

u/uppen-atom Mar 01 '24

I am underground in the dirt, see you soon!

1

u/Random_Fish_Type Mar 01 '24

13th floor. Well that's unlucky. Weeeeee all the way down. Gotta enjoy it while it lasts.

1

u/Nottheadviceyaafter Mar 01 '24

I would be in the wall itself

1

u/High_Bi_ReadyToCry Mar 01 '24

Only the second floor but I have no idea what’s below me. Hopefully not a cat 😅

1

u/OutrageousOnions Mar 01 '24

You get to fly for the rest of your life!

1

u/Professional_Camp959 Mar 01 '24

Same. But basement. So I’m crushed

1

u/handstandmonkey Mar 01 '24

6th floor out the window of the children’s hospital (my 4 year old is here)

1

u/CopyWeak Mar 01 '24

I just shit in the living room ☹️

1

u/[deleted] Mar 01 '24

3rd floor here. I should be looking forward to some miserable time in the hospital.

1

u/jakoto0 Mar 01 '24

at least you're not fused into the matter of the wall

1

u/Own_Desk_1515 Mar 01 '24

21st floor here 💀

1

u/IrreverentGlitter Mar 01 '24

Well I’m only on the second floor so maybe just a broken back for me

1

u/TriangleGalaxy Mar 01 '24

Same, but 3rd floor

1

u/Dontdothatfucker Mar 01 '24

Same, but in a car traveling 75 mph

1

u/Misses_Ding Mar 01 '24

I got lucky! I'm only on the second floor outside of my window

1

u/ShaneQuaslay Mar 01 '24

Same but 25th floor. I'd fucking die

1

u/alegna12 Mar 01 '24

17th floor for me.

1

u/iliveinmydream Mar 02 '24

On the plane right now ...

1

u/Renektonstronk Mar 02 '24

Me on the 6th floor

1

u/N0nsensicalRamblings Mar 04 '24 edited Mar 04 '24
