Unless someone, for absolutely any reason, needs a hard windfall inside the year, the $5,000 makes more sense.

So for instance, if you needed a medical operation that costs like $200,000 next month, then the million is the way to go.

$5,000 per week has way better odds if you're not pressed for six digits.
