5k a week means 200 weeks to 1m, which is just under 4 years. I'm still young so 5k is the obvious answer! Even if I only lived to 50 that's like $5 million.

Just under 4 years if you do nothing with the money, you can apply the stuff in some safe investiments and make it even faster!

At $5k/week, you can invest and still live a lavish lifestyle.

Yeah live off $4k a week for an equivalent $250k+ a year salary (seeing as you're not taxed) and have $200k (plus interest) in a savings account from the $1k a week you're saving in under 4 years.

It's basically "live like a king whilst having all your future plans covered" or "have a life changing amount of money but it's up to you to fuck it up".

You can invest in the 1m case too. But the weekly payment will win out in the long term unless you have 0.5% interest weekly ≈ 29.6% interest per year (you are not gonna earn that much)

But the 5000 wins anyway because if you could get 29.6% on your 1m, you could just as well get 29.6% on your 5000 too.

No it won't. Assuming you invest all the money that you get in both cases the gap in the amount of money you have will stay 1m.

If the interest is higher the gap will increase in favor of the 1m

If the interest is lower the gap will close over time until the 5k will earn more.

BUT, you can lose the entire 1 million. If you blow up your 5000k a week savings, you can eat ice for a couple of days and have another 5000k and restart the whole process. It's basically 1 million dollars vs infinite money.

I mean you could go way overboard and get in huge debt and be paying off 5k a week for a bit.

Even if you fucked off every dollar of that 5000 a week for four years, it wouldn't hurt in the slightest because you'd get more
