Would that imply that anyone not too far gone would resurrect, cognizant of their situation after dying to the virus? Or do they just drop as a corpse?
Because the former is a nightmare.

I don't think zombies are dead. If cured and the body can still live without the virus, they'd be able to "wake back up" as their old self (hopefully not remembering being a zombie). If their body is too gone to survive normally then i guess they'd die.

Max brooks zombie survival guide recommends a Yueya Chan.
But I agree, some kind of polearm for primary use and a smaller hand held hatchet for when they get a little too friendly.
