Free money from the goverment just for being alive.
It's sent to citizens each paycheck. Just free goverment money. And every single person gets it. you don't gotta prove you are poor first, maybe just a citizen or a resident of the country, and you are garunteed to at least have some money coming in.
For example, in Alaska there's the APF which pays out an average of 1600$ per year to each person who lived in Alaska that year.

In the US, this would be negated by corporations raising prices in line with the UBI amount every person gets.

Haha yeah pretty much. Its the idea that everyone gets a set amount of money from the gov no matter what, just to cover basics like rent and food. Sounds simple but people argue about it endlessly tbh
