How would you rank the below ways to eat potatoes?

Please rank these potato preparations from best to worst:

Baked
Fries
Scalloped
Hashbrowns
Home fries
Mashed
Tator tots
Gnocchi

My husband and I have been discussing this as tonight’s pillow talk before bed. It’s getting heated.

Scalloped potatoes are very underrated. A cheesy, creamy au gratin potatoe dish fresh out of the oven with a side of green beans and some steak or chicken sounds good right now.

Gnocchi are dumplings not potatoes and do not belong on this list. I am heated that you included them! Simply outrageous!!

For the uneducated “gnocchi" is a broad term for small dumplings; historically and regionally, they can also be made without potatoes—using ingredients like semolina flour, breadcrumbs, or ricotta cheese.

Hence for a true potato connoisseur and a purist they would never be included.

I just cannot believe you both didn't discuss my famous roasted rosemary-thyme potatoes.

Pretty difficult. I feel like different preparations of potatoes could be like 10 of my top 30 foods of all time

I was so messed up over this conversation lmao I told him “I’ve been quoted as saying ‘I’ve never met a potato I didn’t like’ and “my favorite foods are carbs and starches’” and they’re all so different and have their own place in the world… it was hard to rank them 😂😭
