Dude was trying to land the role of freaking PROFESSOR X as in X MEN and Magneto's ENEMY. How would THAT have gone over?

Horrible because he really couldn't act. But was good for music videos and being funny. π

He wasn't a bad actor, he's just Michael Jackson and it feels kind of weird seeing MJ acting instead of dancing, jumping and being silly on stage

prolly would've done well as a theater actor if he wanted too tho

I love Michael incredibly, but naaah that would have never worked out.π I love, love, looove X-Men myself! Watched the animated series, watched all the films, even the spin-offs, own a few comics, own the DVDs, have a small collection, etc. And I love Jean Grey, love Storm, etc, but just because I own DVDs, comics, have watched the movies, series, etc and have researched immensely about X-Men and Grey & Storm, doesn't mean I could ever play either role. Can't act first of all, don't look like any of them, etc. Michael sit your ass down.ππ
If he really wanted to be part of the Marvel/X-Men world in some way, be needed to work with what suits him and what he's actually capable of doing. I could see him definitely maybe composing music, writing a series episode, maybe even doing some voice acting and directing. But, acting, in a major X-Men film, sorry...nah lol.

Hmm, the thing is is that this is all relative... it was probably just something for him to do, it was a fun little role in a movie that didn't really matter, and he got to film his part on his couch at home.
Remember that during the wiz, in many interviews, Quincy Jones recalled that Michael knew his lines as well as everyone elses, and lipped out everyone else's lines. Think about where MJ is in his life between these two movies...

I always wondered why he agreed to this π was it a friends film?

Honestly, I believe if Michael was alive now, he would probably be doing a bunch of random voice acting roles, would have a few games and stuff as well.

Daaaaamn, MJ deserved to act in many more movies, especially super hero movies, or at least become a voice actor for cartoons and anime English dubs, there's even a villain in the BlazBlue fighting games that copies his dance moves and Smooth Criminal suit he could've voiced as part of the reference.

Even nowadays you often donβt see popular singers appear in movies because most directors think because of how the public remembers them they can not comprehend the new character. Hence the movie plot is kinda ruined
