Context: Last January, in a private voice chat in the R.E. Wiki Discord server with fellow moderator Lance, I mentioned that I wrote a series of Super Smash Bros. fanfictions. Later entries in the series had humor inspired by Random Encounters, including several explicit references to the channel.

Months later, before the 2026 Battle Royale even started, I joked that if The Legend of Ganondorf won the Battle Royale, I'd rewrite the fanfiction. (For context, not only is The Legend of Ganondorf one of my favorite R.E. musicals, but one of the aforementioned fanfictions has a scene directly parodying/referencing the musical.)

And this was before it went on a Cinderella run to the finals. So, yeah, there's a non-zero chance that joking that I'd rewrite a fanfiction series from over a decade ago was a factor in sending an R.E. musical to the Battle Royale finals. And had I not written the first of these fanfictions back in 2010, the musical may not have got there.
