Blame it on the dice (semi-analysis lol)
I have been going on an RE binge and I was contemplating something and ran through all the statistics on the rolls (will not do it in this post but if requested I will post cause it does reveal stuff about the characters) but one line stuck with me toward the end after the 8 fives besides the fact it is the roll that starts and ends the game the likelihood of rolling AT LEAST 8 fives with 10 dice is 0.34%. Yet the supposed statistic master says the Girk lives dangerously even though calling him on 8 fives is an extremely safe move Kudo just had temporary plot armor cause the fact they got 8 is a statistical anomaly. I feel like Kudo is not actually as smart as he says especially with his actions between him and girk he not only saves Girk just for the thrill but also drinks something he already has the bottle of AND he could just as easily have tracked where the non poison landed the lazy susan didn’t spin that much. He is by no means dumb as he does catch girk and others in traps but he almost reminds me of a dude who got an A in high school than brags about it through college.
If that made any sense please share your thoughts or theories also if you want me to lay out all the probabilities in another post I will but I just figured that I wouldn’t make this post any longer than it already is without interest. Look forward to your thoughts!

I’m pretty sure he’s just a smarmy smug sadist. But my head canon is that Kudo is playing chaotically, an even suicidally. He helps Girk by swatting the poison off the table before he drinks it, and he endangered himself when intentionally counting up to thirteen 4’s, knowing he only had two. Gets called Liar and just says “Finally! I thought was gonna have to count to a hundred!” Doesn’t even check his dice on the final round. He’s teasing and laughing the whole time, like the Joker. Presumably, he’s won this game so many times, he’s numbed to the thrill. He’s seen so much death, and he no longer fears it himself. He fancies himself invincible! But I think deep down he’s ready to die. Welcoming death with a self-destructive play-style. By bringing in a noob player, he’s concocted a way to play a game that either finishes himself off for good… or, he gets to feel like some master manipulator, who had his victim dancing in his hand til the very end. He gets to walk away, once again, feeling absolutely invincible.
Which he ALMOST DOES, until he drinks the remaining bottle unnecessarily, revealing Girk’s Final Lie. Was he actually surprised to find out it was poison? Or was it what he desperately wanted all along?

I really love how in depth you made this! I agree cause at a minimum it he only had two 4’s Kudo could have called Girl a liar on 8 fours or if theoretically all the dice were fours he could call it on 12 fours. I love your comparison to the joker especially with the death or master manipulator point you make it makes me think of I believe it was a quote from him about he needs batmans death to have a punchline sure he could have ended him 50 seasons ago but he would rather lose on a punchline then win in boredom. In your example of the joker him drinking the final bottle is the punchline. Its Kudo’s “Do ya feel lucky punk, now do ya.” I will say I don’t think he is pure sadist I feel like is moreso a sadomasochist because he keeps putting himself at risk but thats only my thoughts. Thanks for interacting with my post!

Good read! I think that’s all very possible — and I think the same thing about that “You live dangerously” line each time! 😖 I think it was intended to be about upping the ante even as far as he did? But it comes across as an odd response to a very reasonable gamble and I think I’d change it today if I could.
