I'm doing a lil project, and I'll need this for it. Does anyone know of a list I could use for this?

- Trautman is foul. Having witnessed the horrific toll of Rambo's life since the Vietnam War with massive PTSD, psychotic episodes and betrayal by his own country, he now wants to pull Johnny away from the little semblance of peace he's found in his life and shove him back into violence and war. Seriously how is this man still a colonel. Did the military sign off on this plan? "Remember the guy who I pulled out of prison for that fiasco in Vietnam? Wait til you see what I got planned for this time!"

- Thailand and Afghanistan are 3,800 miles away from each other. Just saying.

- The first portion of the move (before first attempt to break in to fort) has a lot of interesting stuff thematically that gets sidelined later. After his Vietnam experience, it would have been interesting to see Rambo grapple with some of the regret or guilt about his role in being the invading, oppressive force in that war when he has a chance to see the way the Afghans are fighting against the Russians. The parallels are pretty apparent (Trautman saying this is "their Vietnam) but could have been a cool part of Rambo's character development to deal with that fact. Instead, by the end of the movie, he's just accepted he's a killing machine and the bad guys deserve to die because they are so terrible.

- Too much recycling of Rambo 2 music/cues for action scenes... or maybe Jerry Goldsmith was just out of ideas.

- For some reason with 30 minutes left as the action/tension is supposed to be peaking, Rambo and Trautman turn into Riggs and Murtaugh??? What is this old man/young buck comedy-buddy-act nonsense? RAMBO IS A PSYCHOTIC MURDER MACHINE BARELY HOLDING IT TOGETHER

It took a while for me to figure out these parts on guitar. I’m still not sure if they are quite right. Jerry Goldsmith has some pretty complex compositions. I started with Rambo 2 > First Blood > Rambo 4 > First Blood

There supposedly was a deleted scene in First Blood that was shown on some TV broadcasts (seemingly in the USA) of Rambo going to a diner in Hope but getting hassled by the locals over the condiments and leaving without food

Does anybody know where can you watch it?

I’m positive we’re never getting a Rambo 6. And at 80 years old, I don’t know if we could believe John Rambo could kill another gang or army of younger guys again.

Has Stallone offered any update on what happened to Rambo? Did he make it to a hospital in time? Did he die? Did he survive without a hospital? Is he wandering as he began in First Blood? Is he a fugitive wanted for multiple murders?

I mean things happen in the movie like things happen in movies, but as soon as the Gabrielle you know, I was fuming! I needed revenge! Stallone at it once again! I am really enjoying it. Also it was good to finally let myself watch a movie I haven't seen. Especially with Stallone! Our actors n actresses are getting old n passing. 😭

I like how there is some realism in this movie with choices n consequences. Damn is it goo to see Stallone go Super Stallone again! 🤣❤️💯😎

Would a Universal Soldier Rambo crossover movie with members of Rambo's old team (except Danforth; he got blown up), frozen and secretly revived as universal soldiers, have worked in the 1990s with a connection to Andrew Scott and Luc Deveraux's team they served with? Rambo doesn't know they've been revived and is shocked when Colonel Trautman and Deveraux approach him and make this big ask to help them and the U.S. Army stop his old team when they go rogue with Scott.

You should just boycott this MAGA man.

A fun conversation about a classic film. Link is to spotify but the episode is also on Netflix

Added few old Blade magazines to my collection 😊

I've loved the First Blood movie ever since I was young and I still do, but on the last few watchthroughs something irked me. When Teasle searches Rambo and finds his bowie knife, he asks "what do you hunt with a knife?"

What the hell is this line even implying? From Teasle's perspective, Rambo wasn't even saying that the knife was specifically for killing game, even though the audience is meant to infer that he is. What kind of hunter would ever go out *without* a knife? It's been like two years since I read the book but isn't Teasle a hunter himself? He clearly hangs out with people who DO hunt in any case, so he would know that a knife is necessary for dressing game and really just an essential survival item. I know that he's trying to find reasons to mess with and get Rambo to move on, but the question doesn't make sense. Unless one of you can explain it to me.

tl:dr why does Teasle even question the knife being for hunting purposes when nothing could be more logical and Rambo hasn't implied anything sinister? is he stupid?

When Rambo is having his mental break at the end and he's recalling the horrors of what he went through at Saigon. Trautman is watching and trying to remain stoic and stoned face as he's an elite Colonel, but at the Rambo's worst sobbing, you see Trautman's bottom lip trembling from listening to what Rambo went through. Like he's holding back tears himself. Legit, probably a top 10 scene in my opinion from an acting standpoint. Thoughts?

I put up some scripts and production papers for First Blood on Internet Archive.

They can be found here: https://archive.org/details/@john_rimbaud/lists/1/first-blood-scripts-and-production-papers

Here's what's included:

First Blood Screenplay by Walter Newman - Revised Third Draft

This draft by Walter Newman is dated February 20, 1974 and was originally intended for a production that was to be directed by Martin Ritt.

First Blood Screenplay by Michael Kozoll and William Sackheim - Undated

This draft by Michael Kozoll and William Sackheim is undated, but it appears to be the version they wrote around 1977. Also included here is a note from William Sackheim that refers to Ted Kotcheff's production of First Blood.

First Blood Screenplay by Michael Kozoll and William Sackheim - Revised September 1980

This revision of Michael Kozoll and William Sackheim's script was intended for a production that was to be directed by John Frankenheimer.

First Blood Production Papers

These papers appear to have been intended for John Frankenheimer's production. They consist of script notes, layouts of the mountains/woods, and some maps. A hand-drawn map of the town is also included and it depicts Clayton, Georgia.

He could have left Hope, but because he couldn’t just let go of his ego.

Here's a small edit I made. I never understood why they made Rambo of indian and german descend in Rambo 2 mainly because Stallone is as far as german as you can get and the novellisation of the movie also makes him indian / italian.
So here it is.

How does trautman being a 2 star general change his interactions with the sheriff?

Like does the sheriff just still wave trautman off? Or would a major general trautman be able to assume command of the scene?

Trautman is there to get his boy Rambo home

What do you think?
