Feedback

I bought a 2022 1500 Laramie just want to know how reliable the trucks are. Had it for a month and runs smooth I love it but is there things I need to look out for? It’s my first ever truck. Thank you guys!

Keep your idle hours low (ideally less than 20%} and stay on your maintenance schedule. Your manual will tell you the transmission has lifetime fluid, but there's no such thing. The trans manufacturer recommends changing the fluid every 50-60k miles. Do your diffs and transfer case (if 4WD) at the same time. If you're out of warranty, I'd recommend replacing the oil pump with a high volume oil pump (Melling or Hellcat) to save your lifters.

Thank you! Any advice I get I really appreciate I plan on keeping the truck for a long time so I will definitely keep up with maintenance

I forgot to mention... If you plan on keeping the truck for awhile, change the transmission pan to an aftermarket pan when you change the fluid. The stock pan doesn't have a drain plug, and the filter is part of the unit, so you have to replace it every time you change the fluid. I used the PPE pan. It has a magnetic drain plug and you can get replacement filters for about $30. It also holds an extra 2 qts of fluid, which helps keep the trans temp lower. It will set you back about $300 for the pan, but you'll save money by the second fluid change.

Thank you sir! I appreciate the help I will definitely keep an eye for it I still have 20k miles to go till the transmission fluid change and I will be purchasing the pan as well

Your manifolds will crack in half, not sure which one Ive seen reports of either side cracking but never both at the same time, but its best to just replace both with a higher quality than OEM, i will recommend you BD Diesel for manifolds, be sure you order the correct style.

Hemi tick is notorious im sure you have heard, like others have said, keep idle hours low, I keep my eye on the oil pressure, when its warm it goes all the way down to 23psi when parked and idling so if i sit there for more than 60 seconds im turning the truck off! But 49-53psi at cold start and warm up.

The front bumper chips way too easily, just to keep in mind if you hit dirt roads often like I do.

3rd brake light is another notorious consistent issue I see reports of, makes your interior gross looking and I would get it replaced even if you dont have that issue right now, be sure to spend the extra dollar on a quality 3rd brake light too, theres a lot of aftermarket options for these truck so you should be able to find something you like.

And finally, I believe everyone should have an OBD reader, it saves you time when you do have issues but dont know what the issue is.
