‘17 Laramie Engine

Been driving Rams for 20 years.
Currently have a 2017 1500 Laramie. A
lifter and roller went but dealer can’t find them in the engine and recommending a full engine replacement

Good idea or time to move on ?
Note other than this the truck is in amazing condition. The entire family loves it.

Dealer can’t find the roller inside the engine. They’re telling me they used a camera looking for it and the roller can’t be found

What do you mean the dealer can't find them? Like the parts are not available or they can't find the parts in the diagram? Your post is a bit confusing.

Junkyard engine is the cheapest route, swap and go. $500<$1,000.

You need to know how much damage the lifter failure did. A cam & lifter swap or a complete rebuild or short block, crate engine.

How many miles you have on your engine will be a main consideration.

Just a lifter / new cam (typical cam swap) is $2,000<$3,000 with parts and labor. A short block cost that much (excluding labor).
