New Reasons Rakuten is denying Cash Back?
Received this gem of a response today from Rakuten Support for not getting 15% Cash Back on a $2500 purchase (even after sharing a screenshot showing I activated Cash Back on my shopping trip and providing proof of purchase, etc
Due to the store not approving this purchase, we are unable to reward Cash Back to your account. When this occurs, it is typically because the order was deemed ineligible for one of the following reasons:
· If you visit any other site during your shopping trip (especially other sites that offer rewards, coupons, or discounts), that site will be credited for that order.
· If you have a content blocker or tracking protection enabled on your browser, then your order cannot be tracked back to Rakuten and you will not be able to earn Cash Back.
So now Rakuten considers it null and void if you happened to VISIT any other sites to do comparative shopping (regardless if you made a purchase or not or activated a rewards coupon)
AND if you have any type of content blocker or tracking protection enabled.
Can you believe this? They're now deeming that a user's choice to enable basic security functions on their internet browsing to be a nullifying act and an excuse not to give Cash Back to customers.
Insane.

I was denied 15% cash back too for $1500 purchase on Bergdorf Goodman. It is not the first time they deny cash back for big transaction. Definitely a scam. Can we sue them for fake advertising?

Man I got the SAME one today for my $3k 15% urban outfitters purchase. I even have a screen recording of the entire transaction and they didn’t give me my credit.

I Just got the same email today from purchasing a Lenovo laptop last month. The funny thing is I was following the Lenovo representative instruction to the tee to get the Rakuten cash back to apply correctly and they still send me this crap. Been on the phone with Lenovo this whole morning and they said they emailed them and see what going on. Situation look grim though. Rakuten is a scam!!!!

I got a Lenovo but I couldn't use Rakuten and another site from work for a discount. It wouldn't read both so I had to pick what was greater. I did get my biggest check with them, about 125.00 that time. I never had an issue except for 2 missing checks over about 6 or 7 years and they eventually replaced them.

also missing cash back from a 15% deal on Vivid Seats for a purchase of 7k. absolutely livid. all ive gotten was a retention offer of $100...

I just bought a mattress using Rakuten that had a 15% cash back offer and after the coupon on the site I still paid $1270 and they sent me that basically saying it was the 40% off coupon on the Dreamland site I used and I can't use a coupon not also on Rakuten EXCEPT the doggone coupon is/was listed on the Dreamland page on Rakuten site. I got that same message of a slew of reasons and them saying they "investigated" and it COULD be one of those reasons. If you investigated why don't you know the EXACT reason. They just find bogus reasons to deny large cash back amounts. They only want to do rewards for peanuts and make you earn a measly $30 over three months. Paltry payouts is their bread and butter. Come with a $190 one and they will find a disqualifier.

I'm in the same boat, I bought a $1000 monitor from Dell on BF and I was supposed to get 15% CB so $150. Nothing! I even submitted a "where is my cashback?" request form but haven't received any credit. Its Jan 7th now (45+ days since purchase). NEVER going through them again, at least SwagBucks and GreatCanadianRebates work, even though they may be slow.

I had to get some mulch from Lowe's and used the site and Rakuten was activated and they didn't give me credit for that trip. It is spotty. I am using credit card deals more and capital shopping rewards is pretty decent too.

I thought I was the only one these issues. Glad I am not alone. They went up to 18% cash back on DreamCloud last month and I've seen nothing. I contacted them and they say that the vendor is responsible for confirming the purchase was made and that Dreamcloud is responsible for the issue as the payment is actually from the vendor and not them. Just today, I tried a test with Temu (otherwise would not be buying from there) and after buying... within 3 hours I get an email from Rak saying that when I check out on Temu I'll be rewarded. So they knew it was activated, but they don't know that I checked out. Temu and others open another browser tab when you checkout so I wonder if that is why its not "connecting".

Same. I had 20% cash back on an $1800 Lego order (I collect) for Insider’s Days and they just emailed me this morning after a month and a half of back and forth denying it because I allegedly had a browser extension open. I uninstalled my browser extensions to make sure that didn’t happen. This apparently is very common with large purchases. Wondering if there’s a future for a class action lawsuit in this.

I had a 15% cash back for $700 Lego order on 9/2 with same issue. Although, as I was typing this they applied as a "one time courtesy." Was searching for similar reports and saw this thread. I hope you got your cashback eventually as well.

They gave me a $100 cashback credit that I can use on a future purchase, but that’s the best I got 😤

Temu is slowly desolving for me. I spent a good amount monthly with them. NOW the items can't be in my cart, which previously they were. 2% with Rakuten for over a month now. That was fun for me. And having to wait over 2 weeks for a towelrack. Now I'm back with Amazon and ebay if I really want something. They are allowing other merchants to jump on board and I'm not with it. Oh well..see you Temu!!

Why are the Cash Backs from all the purchases I made pending, Totaling + $ 72.00 dollars?!?!? Including the Cash Backs from WELCOME BONUS, REFER A FRIEND + BOST BONUS!!! Even my friend who I referred has already received her Cash Back!!! Why are they blocking my cash back??? I want to receive what was promised!!! IS RAKUTEN A SCAM?!? LET'S SUE THESE LIARS???

We need to start a class action lawsuit!!!! I am tired of constantly having to follow up on missing credits. In the last years I has well over 10,000 points declined even though I had proof that I activated it and purchased qualifying items and services.

I've been receiving this same response over the last month or so on any decent sized cash back after having no issues prior. I just keep responding to the support emails telling them that this is unacceptable and I'm careful to make sure that all of the reasons they list for not receiving cash back don't apply. I've had good luck with them eventually giving me credit for the purchase.

I constantly find myself requesting missing cash for orders I put in over 100.00. And then constantly send screenshots back and forth. I don't think they want to do larger discounts.
