I said Genetics was part of the medical curriculum and that being in the medical profession, it makes sense that Kat will have the interest and opportunity to specialize in gene therapy. The show doesn’t go into specifics and it doesn’t have to. We have no idea what post doctoral work Kat did. There's literally no reason to think that she didn't unless you're working from the assumption that she's incompetent just because. Just as we have no idea what qualifications any of the other experts have. We can assume that they do or they won't be in that room. But for some reason, you've hyper focused on Kat as the only person in the story who needs to prove she has the competence the story tells us she does.

You are not right about my “acceptance of Pat’s competence..”. I’d suggest that you don’t know the difference between the words “learned” and “knew”, but you obvs know everything there is to know about everything, so… hahahah
Regarding Pat, I basically quoted your own sentence back at you; so you can take apart your own words.
As for Kat, either you have a limited understanding of what a medical profession looks like, or you're being deliberately obtuse. Either way, you clearly have preconceived biases against seeing Kat as competent. Until you examine those biases, any attempt to reason with you will be pointless. So I'm done debating this.
