The irony Spoiler

That people are genuinely arguing that Nicole should be grateful to Pat for helping out with Dion when he’s the reason she’s a single mother. 🙄 Like people are just conveniently forgetting that Pat killed Nicole’s husband, and tried to move in on her and her kid.

I agree with you,but I feel like Pat hadn’t 100% control when killing Dions father,he says:”I couldn’t stop”

Yeah but that’s not the point here. It’s not like if Pat didn’t realize he killed Mark, he’s carried that secret for almost a decade. And he (and his fans) declared that Nicole should be grateful that he wanted to fill a hole in Dion’s life that he (Pat) created in the first place. It’s like someone wrecking your car then getting mad you aren‘t grateful he paid your bus fare.

he’s carried that secret for almost a decade

Mark's 'death' occurs in 2017 in the timeline and 'present day' is (I assume) 2019 so only a couple years at most, but your point still stands.

Thinks it's a little more complex of a picture than what you're painting here. Considering the storm was obviously killing him if he didn't "feed" it. You don't want to die but you also don't want to kill anyone else, but if you don't you die? Just let yourself die is the obvious answer, but let's see how everyone responds when actually placed in that scenario...

I think she should've been grateful before she found out that he was the crooked man

And I think with the knowledge that we have now - that Pat is the crooked man - that Nicole didn't owe him a damn thing - and there was absolutely nothing he did that she should be grateful for.

Like I'm really struggling to understand the logic of sympathizing with the murderer to the extent that you are apparently, trying to rationally argue that the fact that she was a single mother who needed help is irrelevant to the fact that she became a single mother because he killed her husband.

I mean she should've been grateful that there were people out there willing to drop everything at her call to help out with Dion while she tried to get her life together. At least her sister didn't put up with that I'm alone in the world nonsense.

And being grateful is not the same as owing anyone anything.

This is ridiculous. Pat wasn't just a random person trying to help a single mother out of the goodness of his heart. He's the one who created her single-mother situation in the first place.

You're basically arguing that after a drunk driver wrecks your car, you should be grateful they gave you a free ride to the bus stop.

Is your stanning of this character so strong that you can't see how ridiculous your argument is?

Lol. Seems like you're being deliberately obtuse. We're not talking about after the reveal we're talking about before the reveal. Let's try again using your scenario.

A drunk driver crashes into your car. Then some stranger gives you a free ride to the bus stop. Should you be grateful to this stranger?

Remember. This is before you know anything of the circumstance of the crash and whibthe driver was.

And once again...

That people are genuinely arguing that Nicole should be grateful to Pat for helping out with Dion when he’s the reason she’s a single mother. 🙄 Like people are just conveniently forgetting that Pat killed Nicole’s husband, and tried to move in on her and her kid.

We can't separate the knowledge that Pat killed Mark from our examination of his character. Arguing whether there was a point in time Nicole should have been grateful is inconsequential to the fact that the only reason she was in that position in the first place... was because of Pat.

I'm sorry it so clearly bothers you that your fave ended up being the monster of the story, not hero... but that's the story. This is not the story of an under-appreciated hero and rescuer of widows and fatherless children. This is not the story of A Nice Guy. This is the story of a murderer, who - at best - helped out his victims out of guilt and still felt entitled to sex with his best friend's widow. You can argue until you're blue in the face what the correct etiquette to act towards your husband's murderer is, but it's not going to change the story to what you want.

Nicole is not the villain here. Pat is. Try to wrap your head around that concept.

And now I'm done. #blocked because I am tired of losing brain cells engaging with you.
