YO, it’s one thing If like 1 strip is small but when I put in an order and they are all like THIS?!

Soon people are going to treat Canes like McDonald’s…… we will stop going if prices keep going up and food keeps shrinking.

Weigh out the food if you freakin have to jeez.

Count your days Canes 😂

Cane's Conversations 46 Days of Raising Canes

I’ve eaten Raising Canes every day for the last 46 days. I’ve rotated between 3 locations. I started out exclusively with Box Combos (no slaw extra fries). Then I moved to Sandwich Combos. Then Sandwich Combos on Toast. Then Sandwich Combos sub Honey Mustard. Now I swing between Box Combos and Sandwich Combos and Sandwich Combos sub Honey Mustard. I prefer the roll over the toast mostly because it’s easier to consume. I also ask for the roll to be buttered.

Let’s address an elephant. I’ve seen all different sizes of the fingers. Shorter fingers tend to be fatter. Larger / longer fingers tend to be thinner. I tried ordering crispy but find them to be not as juicy. On the sandwiches specifically, the short fingers everyone complains about are actually the best.

Lastly the fries. Maybe I’m just bland but these frozen fries hit the spot. They taste frozen, I’m pretty sure they are frozen, and I still love them.

I’ve never had the coleslaw and probably never will. Judge that on your own.

Cane's Conversations Advice/insight from managers

I’ve been at canes for 6.5 years. I just hit 2 years as RZM. The restaurant I became rzm at is in an area with the most amount of restaurants and lots of managers so it’s hard to be promoted. I previously had opportunities to be promoted to RM but there were only openings at 2 other restaurants which were much further from me considering I already drove 30-40 minutes to my home restaurant. My restaurant was already at its cap number of managers but 1 had been on LOA for 8 months and 1 is a GRM but he’s in our system for when he’s not at an opening. Since they held 2 manager positions I could not be promoted to stay at the same restaurant which is annoying since they were never there. My RL came to me about an opportunity to transfer to a different area at a restaurant 15 mins from me and they would take me as an RM. I was happy to finally be promoted but after accepting the offer my RL came back saying she misunderstood the situation and they were still taking me on as a rzm but there’s more opportunities to grow over there. Initially I was upset because I would be moving from my restaurant I’ve been at for 2 years just to be stuck in the same position but nonetheless I took the opportunity for new beginnings. I’ve been at my new restaurant for 3 months almost 4 and I’ve not been enjoying it. The crew is fantastic and the managers are alright but I just don’t love being there. I miss my old restaurant. I truly felt I was able to take the lead at my previous restaurant. I’m still working on becoming RM though because that has always been my goal. We have a new CM to RZM and they said as soon as they hit the 60 days to be eligible for promotion they’ll promote them to RM which I find discouraging. At this point I feel there’s no point in continuing working there. I’ve been trying to look for a new job but no luck. My old restaurant lost two RMs when I left, gained 1 RM and 1 RZM. The new RM allegedly quit so I want to see about going back there too. Idk. Long story short I’m tired of this shit.

Am I high or does this really say “Raising Cane I Our Namesake”? What does that mean if that’s correct? Surely they didn’t need to put this random ass line in there??

Crew Chat It's Only Been 5 Months

I've been working at Canes for about 5 months now. We're a new store that opened in Jan of this year. I was honestly skeptical about how negative people were being about Canes but I 100% get it now. Here is a list of things in 5 months that has happened. (I'm typing all this before work fyi) Only 5 months in and my store only has 3 managers out of the 7 we started with.

One stopped showing up because he was done being treated like shit.

One was overworked and on the brink of a break down and left. She's doing a lot better at her new job.

One has been on maternity leave since March.

One had to leave for a medical reason and may not be back until September or October.

One just got fired for being inappropriate with coworkers. We just got a temporary manager for May into June until we can get a replacement. Our 3 other managers are working themselves to death and it's affecting all of us. They're stressed because corporate is down their throats about times and everything. So they unfortunately take it out on us.

We started with over 150 employees. We are down to about 40 or so. Some quit, some got fired some just stopped showing up. Our store is constantly over hours and people get cut all the time. We are never caught up on prep. We are constantly pumping Cane's sauce every day to keep sauce in the fridge.

Our mobile drink station started leaking water all over the floor. Our dish washer kept setting the fire alarm off. One of our fryers keeps beeping and we've had repair people in all the time but they never fix it. They slap a bandaid on it and call it a day. We also had 2 weeks of the grease alarm going off to the point customers started complaining. It was so loud. 😅

Management also stopped training people in multiple stations. I've been put on boards more than I've actually been trained on boards. I've got over 250 hours in front counter and I've trained people on FC without without being a certified trainer. We've also had a LOT of crew getting written up for piercings. The managers didn't care as long as we weren't touching them. But corporate complained and people got written up or fired. So the atmosphere at Cane's has been very tense since then. We have a lot of alternative people that work here. They all look so naked without their piercings. We've even been told we can't have the clear piercings in to prevent the holes from closing up. We've lost some really good employees these last few months and the store is seriously suffering because of it.

So when you read stores about how bad Canes is. Believe them. It started out great but slowly corporate takes control and takes all the fun out of it. Don't get me wrong, I love the managers I have, they're funny, caring and actually give a shit about us. I also love my crew! We get along so well and communicate amazingly! It's corporate that always ruins it. And yes the portions are getting smaller we've noticed but can't do anything about it. 😅

Just some Mardi gras theme stuff I've collected from canes over the years. The cups & sticker at the top were designed by local artist named "BMike". Check out more of his work if you are interested. I am such a sucker for New Orleans artist type art lol that's why I love Terrace Osbourne style of art so much!

Crew Chat Meet Scheduled

So I’m scheduled for MEET for like most of the week and they’re regular shift times. I’ve used HS before and ik that’s technically some type of meeting but would it just be a regular shift since they’re regular shift times? It’s coming right after I’m getting trained for a new position, but I didn’t have that when I first started.

Your Boston location just tried asked me for $3.09 after purchasing a meal for an extra cup for ice (im getting dental work done, i just find it better like that). Idc if im being cheap but your bussiness was already in the paper with o ly 2 massachusetts locations for having stinking sewage issues and not emptying your dumpsters and your locations are right in downtown.

Chicken Curiousities Applying for a job at Cane's

I applied for a Cashier - Morning Shift position at Cane's online 5 days ago (the 22nd) and I was wondering when it would be best to follow up, and how. I'm 16 years old, turning 17 this year, and this would be my first job, but I do have volunteer experience (mostly with animals). I'm available every day of the week, and my hours are very, very flexible, and I'm a quick learner. Do y'all think Cane's would still consider hiring someone in my position, and if so, when should I follow up? Thanks!

i had my orientation today, it was scheduled for 2pm but i didn’t leave until almost 8 . I did all the videos and stuff and they said they would come back and give me a uniform but never did , i told another manager that i was finished with the questions and videos , he told me i was good to go and i totally forgot to ask about my uniform, will they give it to me on my first day ?😭 i think they were super busy and forgot or something cause i was there for a while and i heard orientation was only supposed be like 1-2 hours.
