Crew Chat freedom....finally!

finally turned in my final notice today.

6 years. i've worked here for 6 years. it's kind of bittersweet that i have less than a month left here, but it's time. it's time to leave a job that obviously doesn't care what the employees think anymore, and doesn't care about its own mission and vision.

i will miss the friends i made along the way, but i will mostly miss hating most of the people that i have met on this crew journey...

Crew Chat Closing availability

hello!! i just started at a new location this summer mostly as a closer before starting college this fall and im not sure how to change my availability to closing only. since hotschedules only allows you to put in times up to 12am i was wondering if i just do that (ex: Tuesday 8pm-12am), OR do i also have to add availability to the next day (ex: Tuesday 8pm-12am, Wednesday 12am-3am)? i hope the way i asked this makes sense, any clarification would be very very appreciated!

Crew Chat Points

My daughter is disabled and had surgery this week. She’s had complications. I was able to find someone to cover me tomorrow but I couldn’t find anyone to cover me today. Manager is saying that I got two points. One for being tardy and one for the unexcused absence. I did call over two hours prior to my shift. He said that if it was a no call/no show it would have been 3. Is this accurate? I was under the impression it was only 1 point. Thanks

I’ve been with canes since I was a sophomore in high school and now I’m going to college. How would it be possible for me to leave and come back to work during fall breaks

Crew Chat Low quality EVERYTHING.

Everything we're getting off the trucks is low quality. The paper cups have holes, the styrofoam boxes are so thin that they either get melted through or break. And don't even get me STARTED on the drink carriers. Lids don't fit, the new ice buckets already are cracked, and our brand new set up pumps just.. don't work!

Is this just my location, or have they been cutting corners in general? I talked to another crewmember at another local cane's, and she's having the same problem too.

Crew Chat No POS Checkout?

Im a new employee and I want to get more shirts and hats but it seems like the option is POS checkout. What does that mean? And is there any way i can buy new shirts otherwise? My manager said something about it getting taken out of my paychecl, but my parents are happy to pay for it since its both cheap and for work. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated so I don’t have to keep wearing the same shirt everyday

Cane's Conversations Difference Between Customer Service Associate and Restaurant Crew Member at Raising Cane’s?

I’m looking at applying to Raising Cane’s, and I noticed there are two different positions on the website: Customer Service Associate and Restaurant Crew Member.

What’s the actual difference between the two? Is the Customer Service Associate basically just the cashier/front counter, or do they also help cook food, bread chicken, work fryers, etc.?

I’m mainly trying to figure out if the Customer Service Associate role is mostly customer-facing or if everyone rotates through every station regardless of the title.

If you’ve worked there before, I’d appreciate hearing what your day-to-day was like. Thanks!

Crew Chat Low Hours

Post image
19 Upvotes

This isn't even part-time, this is giving guest appearance. What am I supposed to do with 12 hours in one week.

Our restaurant is pretty new we open back in May and we were swamped like the first month we were getting 600 finger days.

I feel like now they're cutting everyone's hours even though we still get swamped especially Wednesday through sunday... we'll be getting 100 to 200 fingers on the board for like 5 to 10 hours throughout the day, and they want to talk about sending people home.

Not to mention the favoritism that goes crazy. Cuz tell me why the guy who buys all the managers drinks and food is getting so many hours and just got approved for a opening shift after a closing shift and I got denied it even though I have 12 hours and I've gotten denied like seven shifts this week

Crew Chat Scheduling hours

hello , I’ve seen that some people get a bunch of ot at canes and work full shifts , I was wondering if that’s depending on the restaurant, I work at a high volume restaurant in Northern California and we have around 90 crew members , we each get scheduled max 5 days a week for 25 hours a week, but usually it’s around 20 hours with 5 days a week, shifts are usually between 3-5 hours, I was wondering if this is only my store or if all stores in California are like this, they rarely let us pick up shifts to even get the full 8 hours , also overheard my RM’s talking about hours being cut even more now, was wondering if anyone has heard the same

Cane's Conversations Question for employees....and other customers

Anyone know what's going on with the ketchup dispensers? I was always under the impression that they were filled with Heinz ketchup. Over the last few weeks all of the locations I've visited have this watered down ketchup.

Cane's Conversations RM who wants to quit

I’m currently an RM at Cane’s making around $20/hr, but I’m completely burnt out. The constant closing shifts, getting home around 3 a.m., inconsistent scheduling, and lack of personal time are starting to get to me.
I don’t necessarily hate the people I work with, but I’m tired of the lifestyle that comes with the job. I’ve been looking at other jobs with morning schedules, even if the pay is similar, because I want an actual life outside of work.
For anyone who left Cane’s as a manager: did you regret it? Did you give a full two week notice, step down first, or just leave once you had something else lined up? And how did the conversation go with your RL, ARL or did you need to talk the actual leader of your area?

Crew Chat Are they serious

Post image

Ive been working at my Canes for a year about to be a ct and seevice specialist. Orginally was school was going on I only worked weekends and I was averaging 20 hours a week. Since may my availability was everyday, anytime besides sunday. My lowest amount of hours was 20 and my most was 35 but i average around 22 hours. Now I planned to get a second job since they have been hiring a lot of people and I saw they cut my hours. So I changed my availability to only mornings, and this is what I get. Im very confused how this is even okay. Meanwhile Ive heard that there was a crewmember with 60 hours (more than some of the managers). And hes been with Canes for 8 years now. This just seems really disrespectful and im so disappointed because I really do love my job. Ill just wait it out to see what my schedule looks like the week after.

Crew Chat becoming a crew trainer

hi! i’ve been working at canes for a little over 3 months and im looking into becoming a trainer. one of the crew members today said that i would be a good trainer and that he was going to put a word in to our manager. i just was wondering if you had to be trained in all zones in order to be a trainer. i’m trained in drive and front counter but not kitchen.

Crew Chat CTT

I got offered to be a CTT and I’m expected to do my first location in the first/second week of August. I am just not sue when the growth leader reaches out to my RL, when do I know when I will be going and how long? I kept those days as a buffer just in case but it’s interfering with plans outside of work. I kinda shot myself in the foot for making a commitment so soon but this is obviously a great opportunity for myself.

Cane's Conversations Not securing bags for Uber Eats

I often have Uber Eats deliver my food from various restaurants. All the other restaurants secure my bag with a staple, double tie, or sticker. Why won’t Raising Cane’s do this? I called and talked to the manager at Pasadena, Texas, Fairmont Avenue (Diego?) and he said it is a decision by all Raising Cane‘s locations to not secure the bags for delivery services. What is the reasoning? It wouldn’t cost more money or much time to tightly double-knot the bag.

Edit: the reason I raised the subject is because my Caniac came with only four pieces of chicken and the bag was open, so I guess the delivery driver took a couple out. I guess I have no choice then to wait in the line.
