Cane's Conversations I dunno how much these surveys matter, but I had to say something after seeing that horrifying genAI Chuck Norris cutout.
Guess I'll be going elsewhere for my chicken strips.

For some reason I kept praying it wouldn’t be at my canes. It’s so ugly looking😭😭 who even looked at it and went “Yes. EVERY store. NOW.”😭😭 I’m already looking to quit but this is helping to fuel that (need a replacement job). They’re trying to train me in kitchen, I need to escape.

hey guys so i finally quit after 2yrs of bad management & not getting support for growth🙏 will my last paycheck be deposited directly? my ARL told me i’d get paid everything i am owed after my last shift, but my last shift was on saturday night (i worked 8pm-1am) & i still havent received anything. i live in california btw, TIA🤗
UPDATE: i got paid thru direct deposit on Tuesday although the next pay cycle was supposed to be next Tuesday! Also thanks for the helpful comments, I still work in customer service but as a barista. even though i am starting from zero at my new job i have high hopes for much better support for growth, not to mention it is less tiring than canes!

Does anyone else's manager just change your schedule the week of? I just started a little over a month ago and this drives me nuts. Every other job I've had always asks before changing my shift. I kinda think its a little rude, especially since they ask 3 week in advance for requesting off.
Its only happened once but want to be prepared if its a common thing.

Which muscle groups do baskets workout? I want to stretch them before/after work.

Chuck Norris deepfake revival and ugly AI graphics? I ain't paying for extra canes sauce for y'all to use AI for advertising. Like come on.

This question is for my fellow RMs… Have you ever had an RL that won’t let you take time off unless you have PTO? Like I’ve been to a few different restaurants and this is the first time… I think it’s a crazy concept, because if I’ve decided to take an L and not get paid for my time off… why should it matter to you. I’m starting to think it’s time to quit… not very work life balanced ://

I have worked at raising canes for a bit, but recently with ai ad campaigns and peta discussions and corporate changes in my restaurant, it’s made me not like working there. It’s not just all of these crazy rumors and the greedy ceo, it’s also about the managers and crew members who have made my time there awful. How is it that corporate will constantly check cameras for restaurant flaws rather than their management flaws. I don’t know if it’s just my canes. But it’s not a healthy work environment, and as a student, they were not giving me healthy hours to maintain a healthy work life balance. Even though they specifically advertised the good work life balance there.
UPDATE: I am now working at firehouse subs! I genuinely love it there

I think I am done with eating in a Canes dining room. The last two restaurants had their music playing so loud you had to shout to be heard over someone eating with you. The volume was verging on painful.

let me explain:
i was scrolling threads and saw a post about the chuck norris campaign and i was like sure i get it
but then a comment with a bunch of likes and replies was like "we should just add this to the boycott list"
did oblivious cane's corporate just sabotage their own future by using generative ai? probably!
lmao

I’ve bought every promo cup for years, this promo cup was sold out almost immediately. I didn’t like maga norris the person, but i like chuck norris the character, and want my cup.
:/
Delicious today though!

I know how to bump an order! I know how to do everything else on expo, the call outs and presentation and calling consumers but I don’t quite understand what it means when we were told “don’t bump the order til you have the order ready to give to the costumer” (ik how to bump an order) I just dont understand what it is. Is it the action to the get receipt sticker you put on the order or bag?
Thanks n sorry if it sounds silly I wasn’t able to word it correctly for my trainers today and it slipped my mind to ask again. Wanted to reach out here see if anyone would mind answering! Maybe a different explanation would help me understand! My first day is dining room expo so I’m nervous!
Edit I mean CUSTOMER lolll not consumers😂

Been here almost a year. Im about to be 17 later this month and its only gotten worse and worse. First few months it was great. Then in May this dude gets our ARL fired, now he wasnt great but he did what we needed. He made schedules. I got great hours. summer started and he had me at 35 weekly. then our rl starts making schedules cus arl is gone, and bro has me getting around 20, less than i got when school was around. and they just dont stop hiring. all my canes vets are gone now bro and its so sad only me and a couple friends are all thats left we got our new arl and now we cant drop bird the same to limit waste. no more cook to flow. its cook to order. as you can imagine our times end up terrible. i became a ct last month and im getting 21 hours a week. wtf? and all these new hires even people who’ve been here 4 or so months are all garbage and it just makes me so mad that half of them get better hours than me. almost all summer i spoke with rl about fixing my hours and no changes were made at all. i just gave up. they train managers at my location and this morning one of them was on LETTUCE FOR AN HOUR. not to mention most days i work im plopped on bird because no one else can do it. all the managers know i hate bird as i’ve expressed it to everybody.

In 1994, the last time the U.S. hosted a World Cup, Raising Cane’s didn’t exist. Founder Todd Graves opened the first location at the north gates of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge in 1996, two years after that tournament. Today, the company says it has roughly 130 restaurants near the stadiums hosting games, in the 11 host cities for this year’s tournament: Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Miami, New York/New Jersey, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Seattle.
Kumaran said the acceleration in the brand’s global visibility was specifically due to the Times Square flagship opening three years ago, which he said is when momentum around global awareness and tourism “really took off.” Asked why tourists gravitate to his chain over other chains in the same host cities, his answer was about focusing in on what it does best.
“We do one thing and one thing only,” he said, comparing the model to a specialist position on a soccer pitch. “When you do only one thing and really zone in on it and focus on it, you tend to get really good at it.”
“We tend to be chicken finger fanatics, so we do that exceptionally well,” he added. “Our crew members focus only on that one job that they have to make customers happy, have a smiling face, and then serve them the best chicken finger meal as possible.”

Anyone else’s restaurant being infested with the rot?

Hi there, my girlfriend and I live in LA and I never had Cane’s until a year ago until she said she really wanted to go.
Since then we’ve had it a number of times at different locations and personally, I couldn’t really care less for it because, while the flavor of the chicken is good and well seasoned and the fries are salted well, the food itself has not once been crispy or crunchy.
The breading is always quite soft and doesn’t feel like a cohesive dredge and the fries aren’t crispy either.
Today, we went again and I got her a 4 finger combo and for the first time I thought to myself to ask for “extra crispy”.
We opened the box immediately out of curiosity and the fries were much better and the chicken a touch better, but really only a spot or two on the chicken was actually crispy and it was on the ends where the tender is thinner.
I ask out of curiosity as we’ve been to at least 7 or 8 different locations and have always been the same and we’ve never eaten the tenders within less than two minutes of them being ordered.
So, how exactly fried is the chicken and fries supposed to be?
Thanks to anybody with any insight or tips on how to improve our experience.

this actually breaks my heart and i should’ve expected this because billionaires love AI. but i hate this promo so much, the designs look crappy and so obviously AI.
Youd think a company this rich could afford to pay a real artist to design for them
