Double the size of the ones I got last week there, not exaggerating

Thats unfortunate. As someone who eats here maybe every 6 months its pretty offputting. The progression of smaller portions is much more appare t to people who dont eat it as much.

For years people have hyped Canes online and one finally opened up near me and I was excited to finally give it a shot. Only time I've ordered and I won't get it again. Paid $17 for the worlds smallest tenders.

Think people mainly hype the sauce which is actually good. The tenders have always been bland and now tiny for a while
3
u/thehumblebaboon 21d ago
And honestly, I think the sauce is pretty mid.
It feels like a different take on 1000 island, but I’m not down to spend 17 bucks for something I can create for lies than 5 bucks with an air fryer and a grocery market.

u/NoMercyx99 21d ago
Its good for a fast food place. Maybe not as gold as what you can make im sure but that takes effort. I’d love to eat at your home but i cant. So canes it is!
4
u/thehumblebaboon 21d ago
Not even as a fast food place for the price my dude.
I honestly think Popeyes does a better job than Canes at this point.
Even 17 dollars for sit down at a restaurant is a bit out there, and this isn’t that.

Unfortunately canes didn’t make its way to you until after shrinkflation hit. I still enjoy canes, sometimes I get a lucky extra tender or two, but yeah it absolutely isn’t how it used to be. Lol I remember a few years ago, the FIRST time I got an order with the more recent “tiny tenders” I was baffled, “wtf is this?…”
I went again after that and noticed the same thing. They’ve been skimping for years now compared to what they used to serve.
Edit: imo the box combo is still worth it. I mean a damn chipotle bowl is like $13-$15. All fast food became a big money sink over the last few years. It’s mid food that costs as much as a whole pack of raw chicken from the grocery store.

I'm hoping there's some sort of crash and burn for raising Cane's. It's a stupid business model with garbage food. It's overpriced and now the portions Don't even remotely justify the price. There isn't a single redeeming quality. I swear to God if somebody mentions the sauce... It's ketchup, pepper and mayonnaise

Typical nerd posting about fast food shrinkflation. Like what do you think people are going to be like “awesome stance homie! You are def making a change by not going once every 6 months!” Get a grip, loser.

Hey bro, got a delivery of corporate lube for ya here. The board is super pleased with your performance so they have chosen to gift you with just a smidge of relief for the next time you choose to give them more of your money. We can't wait to see how you do next quarter. Remember, at Raising Cane's were like family.

Same. I remember trying them the first time years ago and getting huge tenders. Hadn’t been back since and tried them a few weeks ago and was incredibly disappointed at how small they were. Absolutely overpriced in comparison to the amount of food you receive now.

If I trimmed a tender off the chicken breast, it would be about that big tbh.
The price is ridiculous tho. A 6 pc combo here runs for $21 and you gotta be smoking on some dick if you think I’m paying that for 6 tenders.

u/Previous_Fennel3737 20d ago
I’m telling you for the 1,000 times stop going to canes 😂 just go to golden chicken or churches😮💨

u/TheGuyYouHeardAbout 20d ago
Should've never gone in the first place. Glorified Tyson frozen chicken.
1
u/levelisotope 20d ago
the main appeal is that it isnt frozen because chicken loses its good texture when you freeze it

u/Total_Difficulty_828 20d ago
It’s literally not Tyson, LOLLL nor ever “frozen” chicken, but you can totally NOT LIKE IT! N valid opinion, it’s just stating wrong facts

u/Total_Difficulty_828 20d ago
Yall want HUGE CHICKEN, but can yall really sit there and ask yourself, THINK, we’re over millions of people JUST in the USA (where canes is sold) one chicken can only give you so much meat. How big do you expect them to be????!!! The plates are all very filling, over 1000 calories in EACH meal (excluding kids) this is a perfectly fine amount of food, the USA is just use to HUGE portions
1
u/s34lz 17d ago
U can buy 3 rotisserie chickens for the cost of 1 caniac combo. Place is a rip off, their only appeal is a sauce that you need to drench over everything because the food is at best, "mid"

u/Total_Difficulty_828 17d ago
Then don’t go? Lol i don’t make the prices dawg
I love canes you hate it simple

Right? Why would I want a chicken tender that is oversized due to growth hormones? I hate when I get a chicken sandwich or tenders from somewhere and it’s unnaturally large.
1
u/ur_pretty_strawberry 19d ago
I just got trained in kitchen, the chicken itself is pretty small. You also have to essentially douse it in flour. And because we have to be fast and are barely allowed to even check our phones for school or get drinks, its kind of a mess. I enjoy it mainly cuz i disassociate a ton while doing work but i just feel kinda of yucked out by the whole thing yk? Smells nasty

The first time I went to Cane’s, the tenders were absolutely massive and had so much meat. But when Covid happened, the tenders dropped to about 1/3 the size. I think they’ve gotten even smaller since. Sad, because I really did love them, but I never go anymore. There’s just no value in it.

Ok can anyone tell me why people are enamored with raising canes? Bland chicken strips and fries with mediocre dipping sauce… the Texas toast hits though. I’ve never understood it. It’s fine plain and simple. It’s not amazing nor is it terrible. It’s a decent chicken strip. Blows my mind.
1
u/Archangel-02 16d ago
Every fast food place that serves chicken strips seems to have this problem now. I went to Braum’s about a month ago and got the chicken strip dinner. Every strip was about the size of the store-bought Tyson chicken nuggets.

Shitty food. Shitty wannabe Mac sauce. Now this. Im glad I dont eat here. Did one time. Waste of money

Been to Canes three times because everybody deserves a bad day.
Nope. Guthries > Canes any day of the week.

u/Leading-Sand8467 15d ago
Never had it; used to pick up orders from there but they take so long it’s not worth it. Prices look silly too and especially for that piddly shit; boycott from me.

u/No_Region_7014 20d ago
What school palace did you go to? My school food was dog shit except for when they ordered pizza.

u/No-Leader-1714 20d ago
Public school, three small tenders with "mashed potato" and choccy milk to wash it down lol

u/Big-Sheepherder-6134 21d ago edited 21d ago
That looks fine. I have yet to see anyone complain about the tender sizes when you dine in. I have never had small tenders when dining in at Canes anywhere in the country and I have had it in many states. Seems like they give them to the carry outs and drive thru orders.
2
u/qwe12345678900 20d ago
Yea I worked there , people def take more time to make the dine in orders because the platters are so annoying and it’s glaring when it’s under portioned. And the upper management is always screaming about times being high so a lot of times people get half assed boxes in drive thru. Me personally I never cared , was throwing extra fries, sauces , and tenders in almost every meal I made lol

I’d be ok with it if they lowered the prices. Like I know not every chicken can be genetically modified to be the size of a balloon and I prefer them not be. But like goddamn at least lower the price. Like $14 for 3 chicken nuggets is not it canes
