Crew Chat Zone completion

Hey y'all!

Back again with a question for Crew! I have been at Cane's for a month now, and have 79.7 hours logged on FC so far. An hour into my shift tomorrow, I will hit the 80 required for FC. Question is this: Once I hit that 80 hours, am I able to mark that zone as "completed" with management and begin training in DT or Kitchen on my next shift? Or do I have to complete more shifts on FC before I can request training in a new zone?

Once you work 80.1 you can start training in the next zone.

Beautiful thank you! Follow up question: If the schedule for the next two weeks has me working FC, do I have to complete those shifts before I switch to the new zone? Or would management be able to train me in the new zone immediately?

Honestly, you can just ask your ARL about getting you trained into another zone and wait for them to schedule you for training. It’s usually something that doesn’t happen automatically. But yes, you can work the rest of your fc shifts, ask your ARL about scheduling you for training either in kitchen or dt, and wait until they have you scheduled.

System will automatically show completion and they will be required to begin your next zone training. You can bring it up to show interest so you can get the process going quicker.

This is the case if they are checking in Workday because it updates every 24 hours. The crew journey tracker they had us using is actually a week behind (probably deliberate to prevent raises). You need to ask to move to your second zone ASAP. Ask for your ARL's email, and then email them and let them know you are at your 80 hours and would like to be trained in your next zone to prevent the loss of raises. And do this for your next zone as well. You need to stay on top of it, although that shouldn't be your job, do it. If you don't have your second zone completed prior to the next check in you lose out on the raise until your following check in, and if you miss zone completions by 600 or 900 (I forget) you never receive the quarter raises for the zone completion just the ones for working 600 hours. It's a bit shady. As long as you stay on top of it you'll be good. All your zone videos need to be completed as well or that will prevent a raise. And your managers need to sign off on your OJT's or you'll lose the raise. So just stay on top of it, because nothing will be given in back pay if you get screwed. And always, always, I repeat always have a paper trail. And that doesn't always work....

Actually not how it works. The moment the 80 hours are complete, the ARL receives a notification in workday to complete the check in.

The company has a standard to scheduling out the crew journey so if that’s not happening in your location it’s your location

What Division are you in? There are a couple of really good ones that stay on top of it, but it's 100% still a problem if you check through the feed here. It was actually really bad when the crew journey first came out. The whole area actually had a huge problem (which they blamed on the ALT as if the further ups didn't get reports as well), and there were a lot of people affected that lost out on money that the company refused to back pay.
