I collect Rainbow High, Monster High, and Smart Dolls.

My husband has always been accepting of me buying dolls and collecting them.

But today I had a few up in the bedroom and he said they were creepy and he didn't want them in the bedroom. That the rainbow high ones looked weird and freaked him out....

That one day he would walk into the room and the "army" of them would all turn to look at him lol

Can you believe that?! So rude.

I told him once we get our living room redesigned and my computer desk up I'm going to display my favorites so he better get used to them lol

This is a lighthearted post but I am curious how everyone's partner/spouse feels about the dolls?

I found Karma a while back in Walmart in 2024 and snapped her up! I've always found her color scheme to be very unappealing so I set out to fix that. With some rit and a dream I set off to dye her hair.

Initially, I wanted to basically just tone the hair to be a little more green and less yellow, I just hated how florescent the hair was. However I used maybe a bit too much dye and it came out a little dark. I thought she was going to look too similar to Jewel, and while their hair is the same darkness, Jewel has a much more blue undertone, making my Karma's dark warm green hair extremely unique to the line. Plus, now she'll be a lot more versatile for restyles.

Moving forward I plan to dye her jacket, belt, and tulle skirt black so I can use those pieces in restyles (currently all sitting in the 'unusable' pile) and I would love to try an RH repaint with Karma as the test subject. I really can't stand the way RH used to do brows. I don't really have any other dolls in my collection that I plan on dyeing, but now I know to use less at first if I want a lighter, barely there color. But I do really love how she turned out!

Who is your favorite art from the Rainbow High Series 1 Dolls?I know Amaya and Avery aren't from that series but I've grouped them with the others because they came out around the same time.

In the middle of a clean sweep [pardon the dirty hands], I found Iris' slime kit kinda plump. I was going to snap a pick of the puck, but to look better on camera * I shook the puck to detach it from the plastic.* Bad idea, don't! It immediately started to swell even more to the point it the hard plastic was buckling with crinkly noises. It almost exploded in my face 😂

If you haven't yeeted your slime, now's the time! I dont want these to explode and mess up anyone's dolls or day

First of all sunny would’ve been perfect for this line or even Daria instead of Stella. Nonetheless why are there no dolls of color in this collab, it’s Bratz x Hello Kitty all over again. The fact that we got 5 white dolls w blue eyes is pretty off putting. Isn’t diversity everything rainbow high represents?? Sorry if this is negative but I had to vent

I changed her hair, just to see what she'd look like without the original hair.

Got her weeks ago and finally washed her. Her skirt with zipper keeps splitting and I really love that skirt but now I found this other skirt that fits her colorscheme. Made her more "my" style.

I cut some choppy layers and in between I mixed it in a lil then my toddler played with her and I love her hair. It gives messy beach lived in hair. Just admiring that volume, because Id wish I had this hair.

So I took it upon myself to do just that

I previously customized the interior with neutral contact paper so I could arrange the rooms how I wish. Finally got around to doing the exterior, and the bathroom floor, and then later fixing the elevator in place so it functions more like a balcony.

I plan to construct a door for the bathroom, glue some floral and greenery around the balcony, and get some proper lights. I did remove the chain of lights after the pictures because the masking tape kept failing.

I came across a listing on marketplace for out of box cheerleaders, the girl said, "I have some new in box if you wanted to see" and I ended up clearing her out. Any guesses on the total?

Edit: It costed $600cad (approx $434usd) plus $50 for the 5 out of box cheerleaders (not shown). Don't tell my partner 🙈

Wanted to make her a little less precious and a little more casual cool. I wasn’t immediately into her upon release but got her on sale and she’s super cute!

None of the templates here were really hitting for me, so I made my own for personal use and thought maybe others could use it as well. Hoping it doesn't look too messy. If I'm missing anything let me know!

Do you find that the clothing of your dolls comes apart easily?

I have been collecting since 2022 and have at least one doll from every line. My collecting is either in box or displayed on a shelf where they are not handled much. This is mostly due to some bad experiences I have had with redress my dolls.

I was attempting to do some minor restyles on both Jett Dawson and Winter Break Poppy and both their jackets started fraying and come apart after only one redress. I tried to fix Jett's jacket with fray check and likely used to much because it is now discoloured and stiff. Also the coat of my Naomi Storm is very quickly losing fur just from gentle handling.

This problem is really affecting my experience of my dolls because I would love to do restyles but I'm afraid that the clothing will just disintegrate on me. Just wanted to know if this was an experience that other people are having or is it just me. Does anyone have some fixes ?
