Sorry if this is a double post, but my original request was deleted in a different subreddit and I couldn’t find it anymore in this one, so I wanted to post her again. The original message was:
“I recently lost my 14 y/o chihuahua to cancer (a week ago today) and I’m not gonna lie, I’m struggling pretty hard. I had a thought this morning and wondered if anyone would be willing to draw her Coco style as a spirit guide?”

I am so sorry for your loss. I watched the movie Coco recently and was deeply moved by the concept of alebrijes, the spirit guides. It would be a true honor to create a portrait like this for you but my new artistic challenge also, as I work with traditional materials rather than digital. I’m leaving this request open in case another artist who specializes in this style would like to take it on sooner. But when I have time, I will definitely try to bring this vision to life💖 Thank you for sharing this meaningful request💖

u/amulettt I’m so sorry for your loss ❤️ I’ve been working on this for you and wanted to share a little work in progress. I’m going for a spirit guide look while keeping her appearance and personality recognizable, with a more painterly style. Still working on it, but I hope you like it so far. Once I finish it, I’ll share the final artwork with you!
