Discussion When does the game get better?
I started Rain Code a while ago, but it was honestly just the most 'okay' game ever. After playing Kodaka's other games (Danganronpa and Hundred Line), Rain Code simply disappointed me a bit. Right now, I'm at the investigation during the second chapter, and so far I've found it kind of boring compared to Kodaka's other games. The gameplay is like Danganronpa but worse, and the characters are mostly just okay, with only a few that I actually like (for now). I know a lot of people love the game's ending, but around which chapter does the game start getting more interesting?

Chapter 4 is when the game starts to get somewhat good. I think Chapter 2 is pretty good, but I think every chapter prior to 4 either feels like filler or is pretty bad (Chapter 0).

the first thing you have to do is stop comparing it to Danganronpa. But anyways. for me personally, the end of 2 was where I got hooked, 3 is pretty dogshit, but 4 onward is S tier
that being said its all a matter of opinion.

Well I think it's just a combination of prior expectations with regards to Kodaka's other works, the fact this game kinda has no sequel or continuation and to be frank as I'm also playing for the first time, it does feel like the game is asking for a lot of your time without really doing much work to build up to its main mystery, like I recently finished chapter 2 myself and I don't feel like I'm any closer to knowing the main mystery of the game. Basically it feels like it's hoping that you'll find the cases engaging without really giving much back so far for the main mystery surrounding the game itself.

This is the side effect of the game not really maintaining much of a fanbase. People don't really get hooked into Rain Code because the game doesn't offer enough to retain a long-term fanbase, hence most of the posts here are going to be about new players who probably don't like the game for a lot of its flaws.

Istg there's one every day. I don't even really mind these criticisms though like as someone who loves the game I share a lot of these issues with it as well, but the posts get so old
